بفضل التقدم الذي حصل في الحاسبات في العقد الأخير والذي انعكست آثاره على البرامج الجاهزة اعتبرت المشكلة التي في حدود بضعة آلاف من المتغيرات والقيود من المشاكل الصغيرة إذ تم حل مشاكل بعشرات الآلاف أو مئات الآلاف من المتغيرات المستمرة حلا مناسبا.وبفضل التقدم التكنولوجي للحاسبات وسرعة معاملتها للبيانات والمعادلات تم بناء برامج جاهزة لأساليب بحوث العمليات ومعالجة المشاكل الإدار

Discriminant between groups is one of the common procedures because of its ability to analyze many practical phenomena, and there are several methods can be used for this purpose, such as linear and quadratic discriminant functions. recently, neural networks is used as a tool to distinguish between groups.

In this paper the simulation is used to compare neural networks and classical method for classify observations to group that is belong to, in case of some variables that don’t follow the normal distribution. we use the proportion of number of misclassification observations to the all observations as a criterion of comparison.

The efficiency of attapulgite liners as anti-seepage for crude oil is examined. Consideration is given to the potential use of raw attapulgite and mixture attapulgite with prairie hay and coconut husk as liners to prevent crude oil seepage. Attapulgite clay used in this study was brought from Injana formation /Western Desert of Iraq. Two types of Crude oil brought from Iraqi oil fields were used in experiments; heavy crude oil from East-Baghdad oil field and light crude oil from Nassiriya oil field.
