بررسیِ حرکت¬شناختیِ افعالِ متنِ "ما زِ بالاییم و بالا می رویم" مولانا Kinetic Study of Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi's "Mazi Balaeem we Bala Mi Roeem" Text's Verbs
...Show More Authors

Abstract

The existent world is a kinetic one. Human spirit exerts efforts towards change, development and ascension. Kinesis controls everything in the world of existence. It occupies a crucial position in the thought of Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi. The verbs used in the poem in question have a good deal of activeness and kinesis. Whereas the verb is the motivating element and the semantic centre of the sentence, the researcher has suggested the examination of the verbs of Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi's text. Moreover, the researcher has referred to other kinetic elements, such as, conjunctions, demonstrative pronouns and relative pronouns in order to attain to the best understanding of the form and content of the present text. It might be possible illustrate the kinetic elements as follows:

The present paper has concluded that the verb kinesis in the poem is an ascent one. This kinesis is achieved when Man identifies the reality of himself because he is unable to know the secret of himself; as such, how could he know the almighty Allah? Whereas Man is in a persistent kinesis, Mewlana, therefore, used the verb "Mi roeem' frequently, not to mention the conjunctions "as: from/ be: to". This kinesis heads to qaf, i. e., the rank of the integrated Man. The verbs stipulated in the text have pointed to the unknown beginning and returning of Man and his extinction in the love of the almighty Allah.

Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864) has been widely known for his special interest in the female characters. In many of his novels, he narrates the conditions, values, and the institutions that surround and control the life of women, leading them to be victims. In “Rappaccini’s Daughter” (1844), the heroine, Beatrice is created to be victimized by her loved ones (her father and lover). This paper focuses on the term “victim,” it shows its aspects through the development of Beatrice’s character. The paper also studies a female character in the male-dominated society, to show the cruelty done to her, and how she is considered to be a second rate person, who is unable to live normally, or at least to save herself from dea

The Strategies of Individuality to Resist Authority: Foucauldian Study of Orwell’s 1984 and Antoon’s I’jaam
...Show More Authors

To approach the problem of individual oppression with an international perspective drawing on Foucauldian concepts, this paper compares George Orwell’s 1984 (1949) and the Iraqi Sinan Antoon’s I’jaam (2004), which was translated into English in 2007. Even though Orwell and Antoon come from dissimilar cultural backgrounds, religions and epochs, they have tackled the issue of individuals’ oppression through their oppressed characters in a strikingly similar way. Hence, by applying the theories of both the American School of Comparative Literature and Foucauldian concepts, the current study attempts to establish a relationship between the Western and Eastern ways of dealing with the issue of oppression as an international problem in au
