TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN EFL EDUCATION
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this study is to identify the extent of the EFL teachers’ implementationoftotal quality management (TQM)principles through teaching English as a foreign language in Iraqi secondary schools.A total of 180 EFL teachers fromsecondary schools in Baghdad during the academic year 2010/ 2011 participated in the study. Data was collected using a scale to identify the extent of implementation of total quality management principles by 140 EFL teachers in their classroom. To support the data collected from the scale,40 teachers were observed by EFL educational supervisors during their lessons. The collected data was analyzed using frequency, means and standard deviation to identify the extent of implementation of (TQM) principles. The weighted means and percentage weights were used to identify the perceptions of EFL educational supervisors. The results showed that the implementation of TQM principles by EFL teachers was moderate overall. The results also showed that the most implemented TQM principles by EFL teachers was (teacher quality) principle. According to observation results the percentage of TQM principles which represents the (high) actual application was (60%), while the (low) actual application was (40%). Thus, the study revealed that EFL teachers need a comprehensive training to implement TQM principles in the secondary schools in Iraq. In the light of the results of the study, the researcher presented conclusions, implications, and suggestions for further study.

The impact of the communication system on some organizational adjustment options Aimed at addressing the digital divide Analysis of opinions of managers in Iraqi mobile phone companies

This research began by explaining its variables and dimensions especially the digital gap, which the authors explained it elaborately beginning with the concept, the reasons blind its emergence of its measurement, and how to treat it. The authors supposed the potentiality of relying on enforcing knowledge in general and the groups suffer from this gap in particular, especially the targeted knowledge to treat its subject.

As enforcing knowledge usually depends on some strategies or choices of organizational orientation among them is learning and training from one side, and communication, as an indicating factor for organizational effectiveness as the authors refer from the other side.

Association of tumor necrosis factor-alpha promoter region gene polymorphism at positions -308G/A, -857C/T, and -863C/A with etanercept response in Iraqi rheumatoid arthritis patients
...Show More Authors

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the association between polymorphisms in the promoter region of the tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) gene at locations -308G/A, -857C/T, and -863C/A with the tendency of being non-responder to etanercept.

Patients and methods: Between October 2020 and August 2021, a total of 80 patients (10 males, 70 females; mean age: 50 years; range, 30 to 72 years) with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) receiving etanercept for at least six months were included. The patients were divided into two groups responders and non-responders, based on their response after six months of continuous treatment. Following polymerase chain reac

Assessing the Activity of Renin and GST in the Serum of Ladies Suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and COVID-19 to Predict the Danger of Cardiac Disease
...Show More Authors

The coronavirus-pandemic has a major impact on women's-mental and physical-health. Polycystic-ovary-syndrome (PCOS) has a high-predisposition to many cardiometabolic-risk factors that increase susceptibility to severe complications of COVID-19 and also exhibit an increased likelihood of subfertility. The study includes the extent of the effect of COVID-19-virus on renin-levels, glutathione-s-transferase-activity and other biochemical parameters in PCOS-women. The study included 120 samples of ladies that involved: 80 PCOS-patients, and 40 healthy-ladies. Both main groups were divided into subgroups based on COVID-19 infected or not. Blood-samples were collected from PCOS-patients in Kamal-Al-Samara Hospital, at the period between Decembe

Orange Peel-Mediated Co-formation of a ZnO–Calcite Mixed-Phase Nanostructured Material: Physicochemical Characterization and Preliminary In vitro Antioxidant, α-Glucosidase Inhibitory, and Differential Cytotoxicity Assessment
...Show More Authors

Orange peel was used as a plant-derived medium to prepare a ZnO–calcite mixed-phase nanostructured material, which was physicochemically characterized and evaluated for DPPH radical-scavenging, α-glucosidase inhibitory, and in vitro cytotoxic activities. XRD confirmed the coexistence of hexagonal wurtzite ZnO and crystalline calcite, with ZnO apparent crystallite sizes ranging from 9.2 to 28.3 nm (mean 16.4 ± 7.3 nm). FTIR identified Zn–O vibrations, carbonate-related bands, surface hydroxyl groups, and residual organic functionalities, while FESEM revealed irregular agglomerates composed of nanoscale grains. EDX showed Zn, O, C, and Ca as the principal elements, and the material exhibited a zeta potential of -14.86 ± 0.52 mV

Applying the WaterGEMS Software to Conduct a Comparison of the Darcy-Weisbach and Hazen-Williams Equations for Calculating the Frictional Head Loss in a Selected Pipe Network
...Show More Authors

Darcy-Weisbach (D-W) is a typical resistance equation in pressured flow; however, some academics and engineers prefer Hazen-Williams (H-W) for assessing water distribution networks. The main difference is that the (D-W) friction factor changes with the Reynolds number, while the (H-W) coefficient is a constant value for a certain material. This study uses WaterGEMS CONNECT Edition update 1 to find an empirical relation between the (H-W) and (H-W) equations for two 400 mm and 500 mm pipe systems. The hydraulic model was done, and two scenarios were applied by changing the (H-W) coefficient to show the difference in results of head loss. The results showed a strong relationship between both equations with correlation coefficients of 0.999,

Synthesis of polyaniline, polypyrrole, and poly(aniline-co-pyrrole) in deep eutectic solvent: a comparative experimental and computational investigation of their structural, spectral, thermal, and morphological characteristics
...Show More Authors

In this investigation, deep eutectic solvent based on propionic acid and choline chloride was used to prepare polyaniline, polypyrrole, and poly(aniline-co-pyrrole) samples using chemical oxidation and polymerization. Quantum mechanical calculations were conducted using time-dependent density functional theory to determine the electronic, spectroscopic properties and structure of homopolymers and the copolymer which were compared with the respective experimental data. Furthermore, the synthesized materials were characterized using Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-visible spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. IR and UV-visible spectra confirmed copolymerization, and SEM revealed that the copol
