The removal of COD from wastewater generated by petroleum refinery has been investigated by adopting electrocoagulation (EC) combined with adsorption using activated carbon (AC) derived from avocado seeds. The process variables influencing COD removal were studied: current density (2–10 mA/cm2), pH (4–9), and AC dosage (0.2–1 g/L). Response surface methodology (RSM) based on Box–Behnken design (BBD) was used to construct a mathematical model of the EC/AC process. The corrosion behavior of carbon steel at different temperatures 100,120,140 and 160 Cͦ under different pressures 7,10 and 13 bar in pure distilled water and after adding three types of oxygen scavengers Hydroquinone, Ascorbic acid and Monoethanolamine in different concentrations 40,60 and 80 ppm has been investigated using weight loss method. The carbon steel specimens were immersed in water containing 8.2 ppm dissolved oxygen (DO) by using autoclave. It was found that corrosion behavior of carbon steel was greatly influenced by temperature with high pressure. The corrosion rate decreases, when adding any one of oxygen scavengers. The purpose of this study was to examine the association of oral administration of Carbamazepine during pregnancy and the histological changes in the ovaries of mice. Timed-pregnant mice were divided into experimental and control groups. 60 mice in the experimental group received daily oral of 15 mg/kg of carbamazepine via intragastric tube on gestational days 0 to 18. 20 mice were used as control group. This study aimed to obtain a local isolation of Aspergillus niger and then studied its ability to produce citric acid from raw materials available locally using solid state fermentation. Six local isolates were collected from different sources including some samples of the damaged fruits such as grapefruit, oranges and sindi. Wheat bran was used as a raw material or as culture medium for the production of citric acid from the collected isolates.
