Background: Anti-oxidants are used as supplements to counteract the over production of free radicals in periodontal disease.Co-Q10 functions as an intercellular antioxidant by acting as a primary scavenger of free radicals (FRs) and reactive oxygen species (ROS), this study aimed to evaluate the effect of intra pocket application of perio Q gel (coenzyme Q10) alone and as adjunct to scaling and root planing on the periodontal clinical parameters in the treatment of patients with chronic periodontitis and compare the better improvement on the clinical periodontal parameters among different treatment modalities at 3 and 6 weeks. Materials and methods: A total of 323 sites with pocket depth (5-8) mm in patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided into three groups. The Gel group, 111 sites were treated with intra-pocket application of Perio Q gel alone. In the Combination group, 106 sites were treated with scaling and root planning (SRP) plus intra- pocket application of Perio Q gel, in Scaling and root planing group, 106 sites were treated with scaling and root planing alone. Clinical periodontal parameters such as Plaque index (PI), Gingival index (GI), Bleeding on probing (BOP), Probing pocket depth (PPD), Relative attachment level (RAL) were assessed at first visit, 3weeks and 6weeks. Results: Inter-group analysis, showed significant reduction in the clinical parameters PPD and RAL of combination group in comparison to SRP group. Conclusion: Better improvement of the clinical periodontal parameters had been achieved by using the gel in combination with scaling and root planing instead of using scaling and root planing only. This study investigated a novel application of forward osmosis using different types of draw solutions for oilfield produced water treatment from the East Baghdad oilfield affiliated to the Midland Oil Company (Iraq). Magnesium chloride (MgCl2) and magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) were used as draw solutions in forward osmosis process to evaluate their effectiveness. Experiments were conducted in a laboratory scale forward osmosis system with cellulose triacetate hollow fiber membrane. In this work, sodium chloride solution was used as a feed solution with a concentration of 76 g/L (same concentration as the East Baghdad oilfield produced water) and the applied external pressure on the feed solution side was 2 bar. The impact of draw solution (DS)

Accurately predicting pressure drops and wellbore pressures is crucial for the effective modeling of vertical lift performance (VLP). This study focuses on predicting the multiphase flow behavior in four wells located in the Faihaa oil field in southern Iraq, utilizing PIPESIM software. The process of selecting the most appropriate multiphase correlation was performed by utilizing production test data to construct a comprehensive survey data catalog. Subsequently, the results were compared with the correlations available within the PIPESIM software. The outcomes reveal that the Hagedorn and Brown (H

Drones play a vital role in the fundamental aspects of Industry 4.0 by converting conventional warehouses into intelligent ones, particularly in the realm of barcode scanning. Various potential issues frequently arise during barcode scanning by drones, specifically when the drone camera has difficulty obtaining distinct images due to certain factors, such as distance, capturing the image whilst flying, noise in the environment and different barcode dimensions. In addressing these challenges, this study proposes an approach that combines a proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller with image processing techniques. The PID controller is responsible for continuously monitoring the camera’s input, detecting the difference

To address these limitations, this study investigated the use of konjac sponge as an inert carrier for Bacillus subtilis in an adsorbed-carrier SSF (ACSSF) system employing loquat seed hydrolysate, and examined the effects of substrate composition, moisture content, and inoculum size, which were subsequently optimized. The results demonstrate that the adsorbed carrier system enables better contact between the microorganism and the substrate, leading to boosted mass transfer and hence Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) production. Under the optimized conditions (pH

The two vertical boundaries of the enclosure are kept isothermally at same temperature, the horizontal upper wall is adiabatic, and the horizontal lower wall is partially heated. The Darcy extended Brinkman Forcheimer model is used as the momentum equation and Ansys Fluent software is utilized to solve the governing equations. Rayleigh number (1.38 ≤ Ra ≤ 2.32), Darcy number (3.9 * 10-8), the ratio of conjugate wall thickness to its height (0.025 ≤ W ≤ 0.1), heater length to the bottom wall ratio (1/4 ≤ ≤ 3/4) and inclination angle (0°, 30° and 60°) are the main consid
