Salicylaldehyde was react with 4-amino-2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-3-Pyrazoline-5-on to produce the novel Schiff base ligand 2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-4-salicylidene-3-pyrazoline-5-on (HL). A new complexes of VO(II), Cr(Ш), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) and UO2(II) with mixed ligands of bipyridyl and new shiff base ( 2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-4-salicylidene-3-pyrazoline-5-on) (HL) were prepared . All prepared compounds were identified by atomic absorption, FT.IR , UV-Visable spectra and molar conductivity. From the above data, the proposed molecular structure for VO(II) complex is squre pyramidal while (Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II)) and ( UO2(II),Cr(III)) complexes are forming tetrahedral and octahedral geometry respectively.
The complexes of Schiff base of 4-aminoantipyrine and 1,10-phenanthroline with metal ions Mn (II), Cu (II), Ni (II) and Cd (II) were prepared in ethanolic solution, these complexes were characterized by Infrared , electronic spectra, molar conductance, Atomic Absorption ,microanalysis elemental and magnetic moment measurements. From these studies the tetrahedral geometry structure for the prepared complexes were suggested. The prepared ligand of 4-aminoantipyrine was characterized by using Gc-mass spectrometer .
The formation of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)-complexes (C1-C5) respectively was studied with new Schiff base ligand [benzyl(2-hydroxy-1-naphthalidene) hydrazine carbodithioate derived from reaction of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and benzyl hydrazine carbodithioate. The suggested structures of the ligand and its complexes have been determined by using C.H.N.S analyzer, thermal analysis, FT-IR, U.V-Visible, 1HNMR, 13CNMR , conductivity measurement , magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption. According to these studies, the ligand coordinates as a tridentate with metal ions through nitrogen atom of azomethane , oxygen atom of hydroxyl, and sulfur atom of thione

The structure of ligand and complexes were confirmed on the basis of their analytical and spectral data, these dyes were tested as dyeing in cotton fabric, and also testing in light and cleaner firmness. Also, antimicrobial and antifungal activities of ligand and their complexes were evaluated and the results showed that the ZnL compound showed the higher antibacterial activity with inhibition zone of 13mm against Staphyloco-ccus epidermidis, Steptococcus sp. and Escherichia coli compared with ligand and other metal complexes .In case of ZnL compound the antifungal acti

Show MoreThe research includes the synthesis and identification of the mixed ligands complexes of M 2 Ions in general composition ,[M(Leu) 2 (SMX)] Where L leucine (C 6 H 13 NO 2 )symbolized (LeuH) as a primary ligand and Sulfamethoxazole C 10 H 11 N 3 O 3 S) symbolized (SMX)) as a secondary ligand . The ligands and the metal chlorides were brought in to reaction at room temperature in(v/v) ethanol /water as solvent containing NaOH. The reaction required the following [(metal: 2(Na Leu --): (SMX )] molar ratios with M(II) ions, Were M ( Mn ( II),Co (II),Ni(II),Cu( II),Zn (II),Cd(II)and Hg( The UV Vis and magnetic moment data revealed an octahedral geometry around M(II), The conductivity data show a non electrolytic nature of the complexes . ... Show MoreNew series of Schiff bases 2(a-j) and corresponding beta-lactam derivatives 3(a-j) were synthesized from cefalexin (1) as starting material. The compound (1) was reacted with different aldehydes and ketones to give Schiff bases derivatives 2(a-j). The synthesized Schiff bases were cyclized by chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine to form beta-lactam derivatives 3(a-j). The compounds were characterized by deremination melting point, FT-IR and 1H NMR. The beta-lactam derivatives were screened in vitro antibacterial against some bacterial species
This work contain many steps starting from esterification of isophthalic acid to yield diester compound [I] which was converted to their acid hydrazide [II], then the later compound reacted with ethylacetoacetate to yield pyrazol-5-one compound [III]. Afterword added acetyl chloride to give the compound [IV], thereaction of this compound with theiosemicarbazide ledto produce a new carbothioamide compound [V], Which was reacted with ethyl chloro acetate to yield thethioxoimidazolidin compound [VI]. The condensation reaction of this compound with different substituted aldehyde give new alkene derivatives[VII]a-d. The synthesized compounds were characterized by melting points , FT-IR ,1H-NMR and Mass spectroscopy .
