In the present study, chalcone derivatives were synthesized via the Claisen-Schmidt condensation of 2-methyl acetanilide or 4-nitro acetanilide with p-dimethyl amino benzaldehyde in an ethanolic sodium hydroxide solution. The resulting chalcone reacted with urea or thiourea to produce several novel pyrimidine derivatives. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR and 13CNMR spectroscopy. Before the synthesis process, molecular docking studies were performed to evaluate the potential of the synthesized molecules as drug candidates. Thus, molecular docking studies were performed using the CCDC GOLD suite (version 2025). The molecular docking results showed that the synthesized molecules had a noticeable affinity towards the inactive EGFR tyrosine kinase domain (PDB code: 4HJO), particularly towards molecule (A2) derivatives, which had a plp fitness (64.095) close to the reference ligand (erlitinib). The corrosion inhibition effect of A2 and A3 on the carbon steel corrosion in 3.5 % NaCl solution was studied at a temperature range of 298–328 K using electrochemical methods (potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) and Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)) at different concentrations of the inhibitors (100, 200 and 300 ppm). The results showed that the inhibitors reduced the dissolution of carbon steel, as evidenced by a decrease in the corrosion current densities. This effect can be attributed to the formation of an adsorbent layer formed of inhibitors (A2 and A3) on the surface of the metal, which protects it from attack by the acid medium. The IE % increased as the concentrations of inhibitors increased. The highest IE % value of 95.36 % was achieved with A2 at 300 ppm and 298 K. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and atomic force spectroscopy (AFM) were utilized to study the surface morphology and topography of carbon steel after 24 h of immersion in both uninhibited and inhibited saline solutions. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was utilized to demonstrate the adsorption of inhibitors on the carbon steel surface.

The reaction has been carried out in ethanol under reflux and stirring condition for 3.5 hrs. All syntheses were carried out under hydrogen gas forming a new potassium (E)-1-hydroxy-2-(2-hydroxyphenylimino)ethanolate ligand type [NO2]. The ligand of the general formula K2[Mn(L2)] type and its Mnп complex K2[Mn(N2O4)] type, has been characterized by spectroscopic methods (F.T-I.R. and U.V-Vis.), elemental analysis (C.H.N) metal content, magnetic susceptibility measurement, Thin-layer chromatography (T.L.C), X-RD powder diffraction, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR molar conductanc

Show MoreUnregulated epigenetic modifications, including histone acetylation/deacetylation mediated by histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs), contribute to cancer progression. HDACs, often overexpressed in cancer, downregulate tumor suppressor genes, making them crucial targets for treatment. This work aimed to develop non‐hydroxamate benzoic acid–based HDAC inhibitors (HDACi) with comparable effect to the currently four FDA‐approved HDACi, which are known for their poor solubility, poor distribution, and significant side effects. All compounds were structurally verified using FTIR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, and mass spectrometry. In silico ana
This study aimed to identify and describe one of the bacterial feeder nematode Acrobeloides varius Kim, Kim and Park, 2017 (Rhabditida, Cephalobidae), which was isolated from soil samples that were collected from Baghdad, central of Iraq, and was classified using both morphological and molecular criteria. All specimens of A. varius were cultured, identified and described using morphometric criteria. Selected specimens (Zah. The prepared ligands were identified by (C.H.N) analysis and UV-VIS, FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. Metal complexes of the two ligands were prepared in an aqueous alcohol with Zn (II), Mn (II) and Cu (II) ions with a molar ratio1:1. The proposed general formula for the resulting complexes was [ML.CL2.H2O]H2O .The complexes were characterized by (C.H.N) technique , spectroscopic methods ,conductivity, atomic absorption ,magnetic susceptibility measurements and melting point. According to the results obtained, the suggested geometry is to be octahedral for all the complexes.
