Morphological study for Accipitrid birds (Accipitridforms, Accipitridae) in Iraq; part two
A part two of Accipitridae Family members that belong to three genera:
Circus
Gyps
and Neophron were documented as morphometrics
distribution ranges
and conservation status were reviewed and comprehensively discussed. A total of
29 voucher specimens belong to six species which are conserved in the “Iraq Natural
History Research Center and Museum INHM” as follow: Marsh Harrier Circus aeruginosus

Montagus Harrier Circus
pygargus (Linnaeus

and Griffon vulture Gyps fulfus (Hablitz
1783). The results revealed significant criteria about near threatened NT species IUCN
and Birdlife International listed as Pallid Harrier Circus macrourus
and Endangered
(EN) species as Egyptian vulture Neophron percnopterus globally decreasing population
trend.

A comparative taxonomic study of nutlets of Stachys L. in Iraq
Nutlets of 22 taxa of Stachys (13 species and seven subspecies and two varieties), representing seven of the currently recognized sections distributed in northern Iraq were examined by light microscope. The basic shape of nutlets in most taxa studied is Obovoid, but Oblong also found in S.megalodanta Hausskn.& Bornm. ex P.H.Davis, S.setirefa C.A.Mey. subsp daenensis (Gandog.) Rech.f.and S. kurdica Boiss.& Hohen. var.kurdica, while the Subgloboid shape found in S. iberica M.Bieb. and S. inflata Benth., more over the Broad triangular shape was found in S. nephrophylla Rech.f. and S.lanigera (Bornm.) New Record with Revision of Nomiinae Bees (Hymenoptera: Halictidae) in Iraq
Abstract<p>In this study the Sub family of Nomiinae Robertson,1904 (Hyminoptera: Halictidae) was revised There were five species registered in our investigation: <italic>Pseudapis edentata</italic>(Morawitz,1876), <italic>P. nilotica</italic> (Smith,1976), <italic>Nomiapes bispinosa</italic> (Bulle,1832), <italic>N. diversipes</italic> (Latreille,1806), <italic>N. fugax</italic> (Morawitz1877); the last species is newly recorded in Iraq. A Key to identify the genera and species was designed according to the important morphological characters; as well, a brief description of the new record species is provided.</p>

Determination of Chemicals and its Isotopic Composition in Tigris River,Iraq
Stable isotope (?18O, ?D) values were determined along with the chemical compositions at 10 different locations along the Tigris river between Baghdad-Ammara cities of Iraq. The physico-chemical parameters and isotopic data were measured. The sampling site represents 34 % of total Tigris river in the republic of Iraq. The systematically increased in values of stable isotope as move from the downstream of the river and the most significantly appears at Kut lake. The 2D models of this study for facies, effective porosity and water saturation indicate the vertical and lateral heterogeneity of the Mishrif Formation reservoir properties in the Majnoon oil field. Nutritional Status of Children below Five Years in Iraq for 2018

In this article we analysis the data of Iraqi children aged 0-9 months covered in Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS6-2018) to evaluate the nutritional status . Weight for-age z-score (WAZ), height-for-age z-score (HAZ) and BMI-for-age z-score were compared with the z-scores WHO standards. The overall prevalence of underweight and stunting of the children were 4 % and 11% respectively. Prevalence of overweight based on BMI-for-age for the sexes combined was 21%. Comparing the results obtained from MICS-6 with the results obtained from MICS-4, we find that there is an improvement in the nutritional status of Iraqi children concerning weight, but as for height, we find that there is an increase in the percentage of children who suffer fr
