Objective(s): Ramadan is the Holy month of the Muslims, where they are required to abstain from food and drinks
from dawn till the beginning of night. This study was conducted in Ramadan to investigate the effect of fasting on
hematological incidences, lipid profile, renal and liver function tests among healthy adult males.
Methodology: The present study was carried out in Ramadan – 1431 of Higira (August-September 2010). The study
sample was 56 healthy adult males. Five samples of blood were taken at five intervals (Before, at day 1, 15, 28 and
after Ramadan). Estimation was done for hematological markers, (hemoglobin, white blood cells count, platelet
count); renal function tests (blood urea, serum uric acid, serum albumin, total serum protein); biochemical
parameters, (blood glucose, total serum cholesterol, serum triacylglyceride, high and low density lipoproteins) and
liver function tests (AST, ALT, Alkaline phosphatase, total serum bilirubin).
Results: The mean age of the subjects was 48.4 years (SD 7.15) and mean weight was 79.92 kg (SD 7.94). No
significant changes were observed in weight, hemoglobin, white blood cell count and platelets count, blood urea and
serum albumin values. Whereas, serum uric acid and total serum protein levels were statistically lower during and
aŌer Ramadan (P< 0.05, 0.01).
Blood levels of glucose showed no significant decrease and serum cholesterol and serum triacylglyceride results were
non-significant at first 2 weeks of Ramadan.
The same significant changes (p< 0.05, 0.01) were observed in the lipoprotein at day 15 and 28 of Ramadan. Findings
of liver functions levels showed significant changes. While, total serum bilirubin still with no significant changes during
Ramadan.
Recommendations: The present study recommends performing more studies with both larger groups and in various
categories of healthy and unhealthy subjects.
In the current research, the work concentrated on studying the effect of curvature of solar parabolic trough solar collector on wind loading coefficients and dynamic response of solar collector. The response of collector to the aerodynamic loading was estimated numerically and experimentally. The curvature of most public parabolic trough solar collectors was investigated and compared. The dynamic response of solar collector due to wind loading was investigated by using numerical solution of fluid-structure interaction concept. The experimental work was done to verify the numerical results and shows good agreement with numerical results. The numerical results were obtained by using finite element software package (ANSYS 14). It was found

This study seeks to address this gap by assessing the performance of AI-intelligence in analyzing (broadly) revolutionary processes and their effects on regional political systems. The research uses a mixedmethod methodology that involves a systematic literature review of contemporary scholarly articles, and an analytics study using AI tools. Our results show t

The plan lets the learner achieve learning by depending on himself after being familiar with the educational goals given to him, then he starts to solve the exercises and the drills accompanying the unit. After that, he checks his achievement by answering the self-evaluation tests. This method offers more opportunities for personal interaction than do the traditional systems, and individual leaning is a methodical expression aims at taking care of the learner and making him the locus of the processes of teaching and learning.

Several therapeutic approaches have been developed for CD management that are targeting the inflammatory process and directed at controlling the host immune response. Immunosuppressants such as Azathioprine and anti-TNF α agents as well as the combination of them have been widely used as an effective therapeutic modality with a bett

The article approaches the characteristics of Russian literature in the time of Khrushchev or the "thaw" period a very short period of Soviet history, characterized by the easing of the dictatorship of power and relaxation in various areas of people's lives. The interest in the research is focused on the importance of interpreting the family portrait in a short but distinct period in the development of Russian/Soviet literature. Chalcone at MBIC (20 μg/ml), significantly reduced the biofilm formation to 21.45% and at sub MBIC (15 μg/ml) to 36.58 %. While, Chalcone at MIC(5 μg/ml) reduced MRSA planktonic cells to 49.61%. Susceptibility of MRSA isolates against eight antibiotics showed that all isolates were sensitive to vancomycin and n
