Objective :.
1-Find out the prevalence of alcohol and drugs addiction in two different years before and after the last
war i.e. in 2002 and in 200. 2-Study the association between the addiction
and some variables. 3-Identify the prescribed drugs and other substances that
have been abused
Methodology : A retrospective study has been conducted involving the in-patients at addiction unit-IbnRushd
psychiatric hospital in Baghdad by applying the semi-structured form based on ICD-10 criteria
of addiction and dependency with the confirmation of the specialist psychiatrist diagnosis of
dependency. Data concerning each patient admitted in the hospital was gathered to have an idea about
the problem of addiction (drugs and alcohol) during the year 2002 and the year 2004. The total number
of the patients was 286.
Results : The results showed that drug addiction was significantly increased more than alcohol, 73%
of admissions in 2002 were alcoholic while in 2004, 40.8% of in-patients were alcoholic.
In 2004, the drug addiction in patients was 58.2% and in 2002 was only 27%, which was statistically
significance.
All patients were males; young age, single, and unemployed. The most common drug was benzhexol
(artane) either alone or with other drugs or mixed with alcohol.
Recommendation
Background: Mental health is integrated into PHC as a strategy of WHO to fill the gap in mental health treatment. Part of this strategy needs a level of task shifting so that mental health care is provided by different level of PHC workers and not only specialists such as psychiatrists and psychologists.
Objectives: To assess the knowledge and attitudes of family doctors regarding the provision of psychological health in PHCC and if there is an association between the certificates of these family doctors and their Knowledge and attitudes to psychological health.

Adsorption of Acetone and 2-Butanone on Iraqi siliceouns rocks powder have been investigated. UV technique has been used to determine the adsorption isotherms. The results showed that the adsorption isotherms obeyed Freundlich adsorption equation. The results showed that the adsorption increases with increasing acidity of solutions. Steel fiber aluminum matrix composites were prepared by atomization technique. Different air atomization conditions were considered; which were atomization pressure and distance between sample and nozzle. Tensile stress properties were studied. XRF and XRD techniques were used to study the primary compositions and the structure of the raw materials and the atomized products. The tensile results showed that the best reported tensile strength observed for an atomization pressure equal to 4 mbar and sample to nozzle distance equal to 12 cm. Young modulus results showed that the best result occurred with an air atomization pressure equal to 8 mbar and sample to nozzle distance equal to 16cm
