English Influence of Workplace Incivility on Psychological Well-being of Nurses in the Southern of Iraq

Abstract

Objectives: The main objective of this study is to find the influence level of nursing incivility on psychological well-being among nurses in southeastern Iraq.

Methods: In this descriptive correlational study, a convenience sample of 250 nurses working in three government hospitals in Missan province in the south of Iraq were surveyed using the nursing incivility scale (NIS) and Ryff's psychological well-being scale (PWB) from November 2021, to July 2022. A multivariate multiple regression analysis was done to analyze the multivariate effect of workplace incivility on the psychological well-being of nurses.

Results: The study results show a moderate level of nursing incivility at the workplace environment and low to moderate psychological well-being for nurses, non-significant between two variables, nursing incivility, and psychological well-being.

Conclusions: Workplace incivility may have a negative influence on the psychological well-being of nurses, in the current study Incivility at the workplace environment does not influence on the psychological well-being of nurses. This study's conclusions may help build human resource strategies to meet nurses' requirements and reduce workplace incivility.

Recommendations: The Ministry of Health should formulate policies to reduce workplace incivility. Educating about the roles of each individual in the health institution, setting policies for a code of conduct, and reporting abusive behaviors among nurses and not ignoring them, and improving the psychological well-being of nurses by providing them with a respectful, and supportive environment.

Enhanced Relative Humidity Sensor via Diameter of No-Core Fiber Structure

Single mode-no core-single mode fiber structure with a section of tuned no-core fiber diameter to sense changes in relative humidity has been experimentally demonstrated. The sensor performance with tuned NCF diameter was investigated to maximize the evanescent fields. Different tuned diameters of of (100, 80, and 60)μm were obtained by chemical etching process based on hydrofluoric acid immersion. The highest wavelength sensitivity was obtained 184.57 pm/RH% in the RH range of 30% –100% when the no-core fiber diameter diameter was 60 μm and the sensor response was in real-time measurements

Heat Transfer of Single and Binary Systems in Pool Boiling

The nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficients for binary mixtures (ethanol-n-butanol, acetone-n-butanol, acetone-ethanol, hexane-benzene, hexane-heptane, and methanol-water) were measured at different concentrations of the more volatile components. Prediction of the Scale Removal Rate in Heat Exchanger Piping System Using the Analogies between Mass and Momentum Transfer

The possibility of predicting the mass transfer controlled CaCO3 scale removal   rate has been investigated.

Experiments were carried out using chelating agents as a cleaning solution at different time and Reynolds’s number. The results of CaCO3 scale removal or (mass transfer rate) (as it is the controlling process) are compared with proposed model of prandtl’s and Taylor particularly based on the concept of analogy among momentum and mass transfer.

Correlation for the variation of Sherwood number ( or mass transfer rate ) with Reynolds’s number have been obtained .

Analysis of Wave Propagation in Detection of Aorta Dieses Using Lumps Analysis

In this paper a theoretical attempt is made to determine whether changes in the aorta diameter at different location along the aorta can be detected by brachial artery measurement.  The aorta is divided into six main parts, each part with 4 lumps of 0.018m length. It is assumed that a desired section of the aorta has a radius change of 100,200, 500%. The results show that there is a significant change for part 2 (lumps 5-8) from the other parts. This indicates that the nearest position to the artery gives the significant change in the artery wave pressure while other parts of the aorta have a small effect.
