Assessment of Middle age Women's Knowledge towards Household Hazards in AL –Amara City
...Show More Authors

Objective: The aim of the study is assessing middle age women's knowledge toward household hazards, In primary health care centers at AL-Amara City. Methodology: A descriptive and analytic design is accomplish on non probability (Purposive sample) consisting of 150 middle age women select from four primary health care centers at AL-Amara City (AL-Uroba Primary Health Care Center,AL Zahraa Primary Health Care Center ,AL Hasen AL-Askerry Primary Health Care Center ,and Ali AL-Ridha Primary Health Care Center.) These centers are choose randomly from 21 primary health care centers in the first sector. The study is conduct from (1st November, 2013 to1st August, 2014).The questionnaire is consist of two main parts, including: part 1 socio-demographic characteristics, and part 2 women's knowledge toward household hazards consisted of two sections (knowledge toward household cleaners, Disinfectants, and food poisoning). Assesses women's knowledge( Adequate or In adequate) The content validity of questionnaires are determined through 17 panels of experts from different fields. Reliability of the questionnaire are determine through an application of spilt-half and computation of Cronbach's Alpha Correlation coefficients (r=0.83). The analysis of data is performed through the application of descriptive statistic and inferential statistical. Results: The findings of the study indicate that (31.3 %) of the study sample are in the age group (40-44) years, (24.0%) are able to read and write, (43.3%) are housewives, (54.0%) are married, (79.3%) are urban residency, (75.3%) are living in nuclear families and (42.7%) are from a moderate level of socio-economic status, Concerning women's knowledge have adequate knowledge toward household hazards, Recommendations: The study recommends: Raising women's awareness toward household hazards and reinforce the healthy behaviors, distributing of brochures and pamphlets for families include guidance concerning home safety hazards, and looking further studies increasing sampling size and focusing on women in bearing age.

Utilizing remote sensing for studying Al-Saadya Marsh in the period 1987-2017
...Show More Authors

The marshes are one of the important environmental features affecting human and animal systems, so the studying of changes they undergo is one of the important topics. This study is concerned with the changes occurring in the Al Saadya marsh for the period from 1987 to 2017 exclusively in the winter season (the marshes’ revival season in Iraq revive). In order to inspect the changes in this marsh, we choose 7 years to cover the study period as a criterion years, namely 1987, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2007, 2014 and 2017. The “Maximum Likelihood” classifier was used to separate the stacked land cover features, where the minimum overall accuracy ratio that recorded for all years of study was 96%. The results revealed that Al-Saadya marsh went t

Heavy Metals Levels in the Al-Shamiyah River: A Lotic Ecosystem Case Study
...Show More Authors

Monitoring lotic ecosystems is vital for addressing sustainability issues. The Al-Shamiyah River is the primary source of water for various daily activities in the Al-Shamiyah district. This study assessed the pollution levels of the river by measuring the concentration and distribution of heavy metals—specifically chromium, cadmium, manganese, copper, zinc, and lead—in both the river's water and sediments. The concentrations of heavy metals in the water ranged from 0.05 to 1.44µg/ L for copper (Cu), 1.57 to 7.25µg/ L for manganese (Mn), 0 to 1.7µg/ L for cadmium (Cd), 0.02 to 1.33µg/ L for lead (Pb), 0.08 to 2.74µg/ L for zinc (Zn), and 0.44 to 1.84µg/ L for chromium (Cr). In the particulate phase, the concentrations ranged from

Al-, Ga-, and In-decorated BP nanotubes as chemical sensors for 2-chloroethanol
...Show More Authors

B3LYP density functional is utilized for probing the effect of decorating Al, Ga, and In on the sensing performance of a boron phosphide nanotube (BPNT) in detecting the 2-chloroethanol (CHE) molecule. We predict that the interaction of pure BPNT with CHE is physisorption, and the sensing response (SR) of BPNT is approximately 6.3. The adsorption energy of CHE is about − 26.3 to − 91.1, − 96.6, and − 100.3 kJ/mol, when the Al, Ga, and In metals are decorated on the BPNT surface, respectively. This indicates that the decorated metals significantly strength the interaction. Also, the corresponding SR meaningfully rises to 19.4, 41.0, and 93.4, indicating that by increasing the atomic number of metals, the sensitivity i

3D geological modeling for Yamama reservoir in Al-Nasiriyah oil field Southern Iraq
...Show More Authors

The geological modeling of an oil-bearing reservoir, which specifies the lithology and analyzes the petrophysical parameters of complex reservoir, its being created using Petrel software to construct reservoir models that describe and estimate porosity and water saturation distributions. 3D modeling of carbonate reservoirs has proven to be a highly effective technique for evaluate the economic benefit of the reservoir by estimating the formation petrophysical properties and calculating the oil reserves. The study aims constructed on evaluated Yamama formation in Four drilling wells (Nasiriyah-1, Nasiriyah-3, Nasiriyah-4, and Nasiriyah-5) entering the Yamama Formation of the Al-Nasiriyah field. In Al-Nasiriyah Oil field, and within t

An Assessment of Alpha-Amylase as Salivary Psychological Stress Marker in Relation to Temporomandibular Disorders among a Sample of Dental Students
...Show More Authors

Background: University dental students perceived a higher level of stress prior to the final exam associated with raised salivary alpha-amylase levels which could be considered as a useful noninvasive biomarker for measuring acute stress. Using a Helkimo anamnestic and clinical dysfunction scoring for temporomandibular disorders can give a better insight about the association of this marker and temporomandibular disorders. The aim of this study was to evaluation level of salivary alpha-amylase in stressor students with temporomandibular disorders and the relation between the marker in relation to temporomandibular disorders severity. This might give a better understanding to the role of psychological stress as an etiological factor for deve
