There was significant difference between knowledge of midwives in three cities regarding complications of episiotomy. Midwives used Good position, good vaginal support (35.8%), using Castor oil (32%), performing episiotomy only in indicated case (13.2%), no pushing without contraction (18.8%), giving enough time to mother (26.4%), using gel (15%), as episiotomy avoiding approaches. There was highly significant difference between three cities regarding episiotomy preventing approaches. Recommendations: training courses, developing guideline and establish clear and unified policy regarding episiotomy preventing approaches are necessary to decrease rate of episiotomy.

Estimation of Water and Energy Saving by Rainwater Harvesting: Sulaimani City as a Case Study
...Show More Authors

Rainwater harvesting could be a possible solution to decrease the consequences of water scarcity and energy deficiency in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). This study aims to calculate the water and energy (electricity) saved by rainwater harvesting for rooftops and green areas in Sulaimani city, KR, Iraq. Various data were acquired from different formal entities in Sulaimani city. Moreover, Google Earth and ArcMap 10.4 software were used for digitizing and calculating the total rooftop and green areas. The results showed that for the used runoff coefficients (0.8 and 0.95), the harvested rainwater volumes were 2901563 and 12197131 m³ during the study period (2005 – 2006) and (2019-2020). Moreover, by compa

Surface water flow samples were collected with distances downstream over Saqlawiya main drain whose stretch of about 24.5 km. The drain travels through different land use pattern, before, flowing into Tigris River. Eight sampling points were carefully
selected downstream the channel during dry season. The examined water parameters were pH, NH3, NO3, PO= 4, BOD5, COD, TDS, S.S, Cl-, SO= 4, Na+ , Ca+2, Mg+2, and Oil and Grease. Descriptive and inferential methods through finding the best curve fit correlation were employed in the study to test the strength of the association between water chemical characteristics and distance downstream the channel. A comparison of the values of chemical parameters at the Al-Saqlawiya Drain-Tigris Riv
