Objectives: To identify the impact of Pap smear upon physical and psychological and social aspects of women's
health.
Methodology: A purposive sample of (71) women. The data were collected through the utilization of the
developed questionnaire which consists of four major parts: 1. demographic 2.Physical domain 3. Psychological
domain 4. social domain and by means of interview technique with the women who were individually interviewed
in the Baghdad Teaching Hospital/ the Consultant Clinic, Teaching Laboratories/ Medical City, AL-Elwyiah
Maternity Hospital . The data collection process has been performed from April 17th, 2011 until the August 10th,
2011. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis procedures were employed for the data analysis.
Results: Most of women feel pain during the Pap smear procedure, Women commonly feel stressed, discomfort
and anxious from conducting Pap smear, most women did not have enough time to conduct the Pap smear and
busy with rather things. There is fear from conducting pap smear it is fear from a positive result, There are pap
smear influence on marital relationship
Recommendations: The study recommends that an intensive comprehensive, obligatory educational
programs(campaigns) are needed to improve awareness of the women about pap smear test and stress the
importance of regular smears as a preventative measure, Reducing fears and anxieties associated with a Pap
smear that can be alleviated with better information sharing about Pap smear procedure. Give each woman
written information on Pap smears; explain the purpose of the Pap smear, the instruments to be used, the

Moringa oleifera Use in Maintaining Oral Health and Its Potential Use in Regenerative Dentistry
...Show More Authors

Phytomedicine refers to the use of naturally derived products to cure and mitigate human conditions. Natural products have the advantages of causing minimum side effects, being biocompatible, available, and economical, with a wide array of biological activities. Reports have described the use of natural products with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties to treat oral conditions and promote wound healing. Moringa oleifera, known as the “drumstick” or “horseradish” tree, is believed to have medicinal properties regarding a range of medical conditions, though there is limited information on its use in oral medicine. This narrative review focuses on the use of Moringa extracts in the management of oral conditions, incl

Background: Tooth wear is one of the most common problems in the older dentate population which results from the interaction of three processes (attrition, abrasion and erosion) and it affects all societies, different age groups, and all cultures. This study was achieved to evaluate the prevalence and distribution of tooth wear among institutionalized residents in Baghdad city\ Iraq. Subjects and Methods: This survey was accomplished on four private and one governmental institution in Baghdad city. One-hundred twenty three (61 males, 62 females) aged 50-89 years were participated in this study. The diagnosis and recording of tooth wear were according to criteria of Smith and Knight. Background: Periodontal diseases (PD) are inflammatory conditions of the tissues supporting the teeth, most often gingivitis and periodontitis. Maxillary chronic rhinosinusitis (MCRS) is the inflammation of the maxillary sinuses which is last for at least 12 consecutive weeks duration. Aims of study: Distribution of periodontal diseases among patients with Maxillary chronic rhinosinusitis according to gender and age. Materials and methods: Males and females subjects (25-45 years), divided into two groups; 150 patients suffer from MCRS and 130 subjects without MCRS. Clinical periodontal parameters; Plaque Index (PL.I), Gingival Index (G.I), Probing Pocket Depth (PPD), Clinical Attachment Level (CAL) and Bleeding On Probing (BOP) recorded f

Enhanced Physical Absorption Properties of ZnO Nanorods by Electrostatic Self-Assembly with Reduced Graphene Oxide and Decorated with Silver and Copper Nanoparticles
...Show More Authors

The preparation and characterization of innovative nanocomposites based on zinc oxide nanorods (ZNR) encapsulated by graphene (Gr) nanosheets and decorated with silver (Ag), and cupper (Cu) nanoparticles (NP) were studied. The prepared nanocomposites (ZNR@Gr/Cu-Ag) were examined by different techniques including Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), UV-Vis spectrophotometer and fluorescence spectroscopy. The results showed that the ZNR has been good cover by five layers of graphene and decorated with Ag and Cu NPs with particles size of about 10-15 nm. The ZNR@Gr/Cu-Ag nanocomposites exhibit high absorption behavior in ultraviolet (UV) region of sp
