Two homopolymeric and three copolymeric additives for base oil were synthesized using octyl acrylate (OA) and tert-butyl acrylamide (TBA) monomers.    A square experimental arena with vegetation on one interior side was deployed in a Sharjah, United Arab Emirates desert.
