Tetragonal compound CuAl0.4Ti0.6Se2 semiconductor has been prepared by
melting the elementary elements of high purity in evacuated quartz tube under low
pressure 10-2 mbar and temperature 1100 oC about 24 hr. Single crystal has been
growth from this compound using slowly cooled average between (1-2) C/hr , also
thin films have been prepared using thermal evaporation technique and vacuum 10-6
mbar at room temperature .The structural properties have been studied for the powder
of compound of CuAl0.4Ti0.6Se2u using X-ray diffraction (XRD) . The structure of the
compound showed chalcopyrite structure with unite cell of right tetragonal and
dimensions of a=11.1776 Ao ,c=5.5888 Ao .The structure of thin films showed
amorphous structure and the films have crystallized under annealing treatment in the
range of temperature (150-300) oC.
A new Schiff base (4-chlorophenyl)(phenyl methanimine (6R,7R)-3-methyl-8-oxo-7-(2-phenylpropanamido)-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylate=HL=C29H24ClN3O4S) has been synthesized from β-lactam antibiotic (cephalexin mono hydrate (CephH)=(C16H19N3O5S.H2O) and 4- chlorobenzophenone. Tin oxide films (SnO2) of thickness (1 ?m) are prepared on glass substrate by post oxidation of metal films technique. Films were irradiated with Nd:YAG double frequency laser of wavelength (532 nm) pulses of three energies (100, 500, 1000) mJ. The optical absorption, transmission, reflectance, refractive index and optical conductivity of these films are investigated in the UV-Vis region (200-900) nm. It was found that the average transmittance of the films is around (80%) at wavelength (550 nm) and showed high transmission (? 90 %) in the visible and near infrared region.
