The Landsat Imagery Gap Filling using Median Filter Method
...Show More Authors

The Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) that loaded onboard the Landsat-7 satellite was launched on 15 April 1999. After 4 years, the image collected by this sensor was greatly impacted by the failure of the system’s Scan Line Corrector (SLC), a radiometry error. The median filter is one of the basic building blocks in many image processing situations. Digital images are often distorted by impulse noise due to errors generated by the noise sensor, errors that occur during the conversion of signals from analog-to-digital, as well as errors generated in communication channels. This error inevitably leads to a change in the intensity of some pixels, while some pixels remain unchanged. To remove impulse noise and improve the quality of the image we are working on. In this paper, the Landsat -7 data was corrected from line droop out radiometric errors using the median filter method. we studied the median filter and offer a method based on an improved median filtering algorithm, [2]. We apply the median filter (3 x 3) to correct the image taken by of Landsat 7 and correct it, and we will restore the damaged pixels using the Erdas imagine program.

Study the Spectral Properties of Coumarine -47 Dissolved in Chloroform: Rafah Abdul Hadi Omer|Mohammed T. Hussian|Lamia Kand Kalif
...Show More Authors

The spectral propetties (absorption and fluorescence) of Coumarine-47 laser dye have been studied. This type of laser dye belong the Coumarine family and it has dissolved in chloroform at different concentrations (1x10-5, 5x10-5, and 1x10-4 M) at room temperature. The achieved results have been pointed out to increase in the absorption and fluorescence as the concentration increased which are agreements with Beer – Lambert law. These have been also showed an expansion in the spectral range of absorption and fluorescence with a noticed shift in the direction of longer wavelength (Red-shift) with increasing concentration. The quantum efficiency of the dissolved C47 in chloroform has been computed by using the brevious concentrations

First record of peregrine shrimp Metapenaeus stebbingi Nobili, 1904 (Crustacea, Decapoda: Penaeidae) in the Iraqi waters, North-West Arabian Gulf
...Show More Authors

One male specimen of the species Metapenaeus stebbingi Nobili, 1904 was first recorded in November 2021 from the Iraqi territorial waters, Northwest of the Arabian Gulf. Therefore, the investigated shrimp species nominally corresponds to the original description of M. stebbing through the main diagnostic features. It must be adopted in the spread and expansion of species, a new record of the area, and a distinctive addition to the species of commercial shrimp within the Iraqi marine waters.

An enemy hides in the ceiling; pediatric traumatic brain injury caused by metallic ceiling fan: Case series and literature review
...Show More Authors

Purpose: We report a series of 29 pediatric patients who sustained head injuries due to metallic ceiling fans. They all were admitted to the Emergency Department of Neurosurgery Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, during January 2015 to January 2017. Results: Pediatric ceiling fan head injuries are characterized by four traits which distinguish them from other types of head injuries; 1- Most of them were because of climbing on or jumping from furniture between the ages of two and five. 2- Most of them sustained compound depressed skull fracture which associated with intracranial lesions and pneumocephalus. 3- The most common indication for surgical intervention was because of dirty wound which mixed with hairs. 4- These variables were stati

The Relationship of Adding Allicin Powder to Diet on Concentration of Glutathione Enzyme and Histological of Thymus Gland of Broiler
...Show More Authors

This study was conducted at the field of poultry-Abu Gharib/department of Animal Production/college of agricultural engineering Sciences-university of Baghdad, during the period from 12/10/2019 to 24/11/2019 duration (42 days), to demonstrate the effect of adding different levels of Allicin to broiler diet on Glutathione level in blood and histological of thymus gland, total of 225 Ross 308 chicks was used. Birds were randomly distributed into five treatment groups which were: First treatment T1: without additives to diet (control), other treatments T2, T3, T4, T5 was added Allicin at a rate of (800,600,400,200 mg/Kg diet) respectively, and Allicin was added from first day until the end of the experiment for all addition treatments, results

Studying the genotype of Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor-Interacting Protein (AIP) Gene (rs641081C>A) in ‎Iraqi Samples with Acromegaly Pituitary Adenoma
...Show More Authors

Pituitary adenomas are the anterior pituitary tumors. Patients with an Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor-Interacting Protein (AIP) mutation (AIP- mut) tend to have more aggressive tumors occurring at a younger age. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in many studies have been related to metabolic comorbidities in the general population. Study aims investigated the role of AIP gene SNPs with susceptibility to acromegaly pituitary- adenoma, with levels of LH, FSH, TSH, Testosterone, IGF1,GH, FT4 , Prolactin hormones and blood sugar levels.  The study ‎was conducted on a group of acromegaly patients, including 50 patients) both Genders( with ‎hyperplasia of the ends, and apparently healthy control group. Serum and salivary levels of thyroid antibodies (TPO-Ab&Tg-Ab) in the of hypothyroid patients with and without periodontitis
...Show More Authors

Hypothyroidism is the decrease in thyroid hormones production and thyroid gland function. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is the most common cause of hypothyroidism with production of autoantibodies directed toward autoantigens thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyroid peroxidase (TPO). This study was carried out to determine and compare serum and salivary levels of thyroid antibodies (TPO-Ab and Tg- Ab) in hypothyroid patients (with and without periodontitis) and healthy control; as well as to estimate the possibility to evaluate and measured these antibodies in the saliva as measured in the serum. Serum and saliva samples were collected from sixty hypothyroid patients with age ranged (20-64) years (30 of patients were with periodontitis and 30 without per

The effect of Bio and Nano Fertilizer on Growth and Yield of Basil Plant and its Content of Active Ingredients
...Show More Authors

A factorial experiment was conducted at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Ibn al Haitham/University of Baghdad for the 2023 growing season to study the effect of the biofertilizer represented by the mycorrhizae vaccine and the NPK Nano fertilizer on some indicators of vegetative and root growth, yield, and volatile oil production of the basil plant, Ocimum basilicum L., the experiment included two factors. The rst factor was mycorrhizae inoculum at 2 levels: 0 (no addition) and an addition of 25 g plant–1, as the seeds were inoculated upon planting. The second factor was spraying the plant’s shoots with NPK Nano fertilizer at four levels (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5) g l–1. The results showed a signicant eect of the treatment of inocula
