The effect of time (or corrosion products formation) on corrosion rates of carbon steel pipe in aerated 0.1N NaCl
solution under turbulent flow conditions is investigated. Tests are conducted using electrochemical polarization
technique by determining the limiting current density of oxygen reduction in Reynolds number range of 15000 to 110000
and temperature range of 30 to 60oC. The effect of corrosion products formation on the friction factor is studied and
discussed. Corrosion process is analyzed as a mass transfer operation and the mass transfer theory is employed to
express the corrosion rate. The results are compared with many proposed models particularly those based on the
concept of analogy among momentum, heat, and mass transport. The capability of these models to predict corrosion
rates in presence of corrosion products is examined and discussed. It is found that formation of corrosion products with
time decreases the corrosion rate (or mass transfer rate) at low Reynolds number and temperature while it increases the
corrosion rate at high Re and temperature. It increases momentum transport and this increase depends on temperature,
Reynolds number, and corrosion rate. Increasing roughness due to the formation of corrosion products causes
overestimation of analogy correlations results by increasing friction factor and decreasing corrosion rate.
This study was conducted in order to statement the effect of ginger (Zingiber officinale) extracts in reducing the presence of the bacterium Salmonella typhimurium in some foods products.
Qualitative disclosures effective chemical compounds (alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, terpenes) showed that the extracts of ginger an effective compounds as follows: oil extract and fresh juice> aqueous extract warm> aqueous extract cold. And studied the impact extract of fresh ginger juice, hot water ,cold water and oil rates extracts (1,2,3)% in bacteria test has shown that all s of extracts clear impact inhibition has oily extract of ginger recorded the highest value to inhibition zone reaching 35 mm when the concentration of 3%, f
This work studies with produce of light fuel fractions of gasoline, kerosene and gas oil from treatment of residual matter that will be obtained from the solvent extraction process as by product from refined lubricate to improve oil viscosity index in any petroleum refinery. The percentage of this byproduct is approximately 10% according to all feed (crude oil) in the petroleum refinery process. The objective of this research is to study the effect of the residence time parameter on the thermal cracking process of the byproduct feed at a constant temperature, (400 °C). The first step of this treatment is the thermal cracking of this byproduct material by a constructed batch reactor occupied with control device at a selective range of re

Fish were fed on a diet with a protein content of 30% for ten weeks. Results of the growth experiment showed that the feed conversion rate was 2.46, 3.58, 4.84, 6.77, and -8.56 in the first to fifth treatments, respectively, and the rate feed conversion efficiency was 40.65, 27. 93, 20.66, 14.77 and 11.68 %, while the protein intake was 22.38, 20.44, 18.86, 17.47 and 16.56 g in salt concentrations of 0.1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 g/L, respectively. In this work, the effect of anodizing duration on the morphology and photoelectrochemical properties of TiO2 nanotubes arrays (NTAs) has been investigated The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) to characterize their crystalline structure and compositional. Surface morphological and their dimensional variation was examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The anodizing duration played a significant role in the formation of TiO2 nanotubes arrays. Moreover, the photoelectrochemical properties (PEC) were studied through photocurrent measurements. Optimum anodizing duration of 60 min at 40 V exhibited maximum photocurrent of 0.03 mA cm-2 under illumination of hal

It investigates techniques such as air curing, periodic water spraying, full water submersion, and polyethylene encasement. Artificial neural network models were employed to evaluate the compressive strength under each curing condition. A model for calculating compressive strength that considers surrounding conditions was created using an artificial neural network. The current study’s figures were generated using this model. The research thoroughly examined the impact of curing environments and concrete mix components on strength properties, taking into account factors such as tempera
New N2O2 donor kind Schiff basehas been destined and structured by reaction Ampyrone with O-hydroxyacetophenone and Anthranilic acid. The metal complexes of the Schiff base with Mn(II), Hg(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) metal ions were designed and characterized by magnetic susceptibility, elemental analyses, molar conduction, IR, and 1H NMR,UV-Vis spectral metrics. The UV-Vis. and magnetic susceptibility data of the complexes suggest a square-planar, tetrahedraland octahedral geometries around the central metal ions.
