In the present study the performance of drying process of dffirent solid materials by batch fluidized bed drying
under vacuum conditions was investigated. Three, different solid materials, namely; ion exchange resin-8528,
aspirin and paracetamol were used. The behavior of the drying curves as well as the rate of drying of these
materials had been studied. The experiments were caried out in a 0.0381 m column diameter fluidized by hot
air under yacuum conditions. Four variables affecting on the rate of drying were studied' these variables are
vacuum pressure (100 - 500 mm Hg), air temperature (303-323 K), particle size (0.3-0.8 mm) and initial
moisture content (0.35-0.55 g/g solid)-for resin and (0.1-0.2 g/g soltid) for aspirin and paracetamol. The study of
the characteristics of the drying curves showed that the drying behavior depends mainly on the type of the solid
material and on the operating conditions. It was found that the drying rate at vacuum conditions is enhanced by
increasing the operating temperature of the air and decreases by increasing the initial moisture content of the
material and the particle size. Moreover, an experiment was carried out to study the drying of aspirin solid
material which is dried in atmospheric fluidized bed dryer operating at the same conditions to compare the
temperature and time needed in both techniques. It was found that the temperature needed for vacuum fluidized
bed dryer (303 K) is less than needed by fluidized bed dryer operating at atmospheric pressure (323 K). A
simpliled model'for the drying of solids in the constant-rate period in a batch fluidized bed is developed,
considering the bed to consist of dense phase and bubble phase with heat and mass transfer between the phases.
It is assumed that the solids in dense phase to be in thermal equilibrium with the interstitial gas in the dense
phase. The bubble size, its rise velocity, and the bubble volume fraction are taken into account while developing
the model. The model is compared with experimental data reported in this study and found to match
satisfactorily.

The humid and warm conditions in greenhouses provide an excellent environment for pests’ living conditions, and therefore, they provide ideal medium for alien introductions. Molluscs are among the most significant pests that infest plastic covered greenhouses. Vitiligo is an acquired idiopathic skin disorder characterized by depigmented macules due to loss of cutaneous melanocytes. The permanent deformation of flexible pavement represent serious problem in hot climate region. Numerous efforts are devoted to mitigate this distress such as modifying asphalt binder by polymers. The present work describes the development of code for trim and longitudinal stability analysis of a helicopter in forward flight. In general, particular use of these codes can be made for parametric investigation of the effects of the external and internal systems integrated to UH-60 helicopters. A forward flight longitudinal dynamic stability code is also developed in the work to solve the longitudinal part of the whole coupled matrix of equations of motion of a helicopter in forward flight. The coupling is eliminated by linearization. The trim analysis results are used as inputs to the dynamic stability code. The forward flight stability code is applied to UH-60 helicopter.
A total of 533 specimens were collected in survey of Brachyceran species from different regions of Iraq during February to November 2014 .This study was reported 16 species belonging to 13 genera and 7 families, the results showed that Dicranosepsis Duda, 1926 (Family; Sepsidae) is recorded the genus for the first time in Iraq.

New heterocyclic derivatives of quinoline are reported. Reaction of quinoline-2-thiol 4 with hydrazine hydrate gave 2-hydrazionoquinoline 5. Treatment of 5 with CS2 in pyridine afforded 1,2,4-triazolo-[4,3-a]- quinolin-1-2H-thione 6, whereas the reaction of 5 with carboxylic acids namely formic acid or acetic acid, yielded the 1,2,4-triazol-[4,3-a]-quinolin 7 or 5-methyl-1,2,4-triazolo [4,3-a]-quinoline 8 through ring closure. Diazotization of 5 under acidic conditions produced the fused tetrazole compound 9, tetrzolo-[1,5-a]- quinoline. Moreover, treatment of 5 with active methlyene compounds gave two pyrazole derivatives 10 and 11. Azomethines 12a-e were prepared through condensation of 5 with aromatic aldehydes or ketones.
