The promising anticancer efficacy of parsley seeds flavonoid (apigenin) in induced mammary adenocarcinoma (AMN3) mice
...Show More Authors

Extraction and identification of parsley (Petroselinum sativum) seeds flavonoids (apigenin), as well as evaluation its anticancer efficacy was the main aim of the current study. Thin layer chromatography results clarified that apigenin is the major flavonoid in parsley seeds. The cytotoxic effect of apigenin in mammary adenocarcinoma (AMN3) bearing mice was manifested through significant (P ≤ 0.01) reduction in tumor volume and growth rate inhibition (90.8 %) after 24 days of oral administration at a dose of 300 mg/kg body weight. The volume of tumor in the treated group reached 1354.8 mm³ while the recorded size of the control was 14758 mm³. Transplanted cancer mice showed a significant (P ≤ 0.01) elevation in concentration of liver, heart, kidney and tumor mass tissue homogenate malondialdehyde as well as a significant depression in glutathione concentration. Apigenin intubation caused a significant correction of the previous parameters manifested by a significant elevation and depression in glutathione and malondialdehyde concentration respectively. Agarose gel electrophoresis of blood serum of AMN3 transplanted mice, showed an increment in globulin concentrations coincide with albumin concentration decrement, while apigenin administration normalized to a great extent serum protein concentrations. Histopathological sections of liver, kidney, spleen as well as tumor mass showed the significant role of apigenin in immune system stimulation manifested by elevation of globulins, lymphocytes and macrophages and replacement of cancer tissues by connective tissues.

Investigation the Optimum Combined Dosages of Date Seeds Powder as Natural Coagulant with Chemical Coagulants in Domestic Wastewater Pretreatment
...Show More Authors

The pretreatment process can be considered one of the important processes in wastewater treatment, especially coagulation process to decrease the strength of many pollutants. This paper focused on using powdered date seeds as natural coagulant in addition to chemical coagulants (alum and ferric chloride) to find the optimum dosage of each coagulant that makes efficient removal of turbidity and chemical oxygen demand (COD) from domestic wastewater as a pretreatment process, then finding the optimum combined dosages of date seeds with alum, date seeds with ferric chloride that make efficient removal for both pollutants. Concerning turbidity, the optimum dosage for date seeds, alum and ferric chloride were 40 mg/l (79%), 70

The Importance of 2-AminoThiazole Schiff Bases as Antimicrobial and Anticancer Agents
...Show More Authors

The pharmacophore 2-aminothiazole has an interesting role in pharmaceutical chemistry as this led to the synthesis of many types of compounds with diverse biological activity. Schiff base derivatives at the same time contribute to drug evolution importantly. In this review, the Schiff base derivatives of 2-aminothiazole formed and some of their metal complexes are being focused on, and the antimicrobial and anticancer activity of them is being illustrated.

Violence Efficacy of Parents in Consolidating the Positive Values and Its Relation with Socialization among Intermediated School Students
...Show More Authors

The research aims to identify the effectiveness of violence by parents in the consolidation of positive values among students. Additionally, the research aims to identify the differences in violence levels among students regarding their gender (males & females). The study was limited to the intermediate school students in Baghdad city / Karkh2 for the academic year 2017-2018. The results showed that males are more violent than females do and that discrimination led to experience violence more than other methods. The researcher recommends the need to create a positive atmosphere within the school context. For future studies, the researcher suggests conducting a study to identify the violence and its relation to some personal character

The impact of Sudafed on spleen of albino mice
...Show More Authors

Pseudoephedrine (PSE), often known as Sudafed, belongs to a class of medications known as sympathomimetic amines, which affect the digestive system, respiratory system, and cardiovascular system. This drug has a long history of medical use; it is helpful in treating symptoms of the common cold and flu, sinusitis, asthma, and bronchitis. Due to its central nervous system (CNS) stimulant properties and structural similarity to amphetamine, it is also used for non-medical purposes such as doping agent, to increase focus, and as a substance that gets rid of exhaustion and drowsiness. Nevertheless only a few studies, backed up its impact on solid abdominal organs. The aim of this task is to investigate the effect of some dosages of PSE

Mango fruit is one of the most nutritionally rich fruits with unique flavor, this fruit belonged to family of Anacardiaceae and it is an excellent source of vitamins specially vitamin A, carotene pigments and potassium. In this study the antimicrobial activity of mango seeds extract has been investigated against gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus spp.) and gram negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E. coli) and yeast Candida albicans by well diffusion method in nutrient agar and the results were expressed as the diameter of bacterial inhibition zones surrounding the wells, and the antibiofilm of its extracts was observed against Staphylococcus aureus. The seeds extractions prepared by two solvents: 8
