Prevalence of exoU/exoS genotype among Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from burn wound infections
...Show More Authors

Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been identified as the main causative agent responsible for severe infections in burn patients worldwide. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of the exoU/exoS genotype in P. aeruginosa isolates collected from burn wound infections in Iraq. From January to April 2023, a total of eighty isolates of P. aeruginosawere obtained from patients with burn wound infections in two Iraqi hospitals (Teaching Baghdad Hospital and AL-Yarmok Hospital). The isolates were first identified using biochemical tests and then verified using molecular techniques, specifically by targeting the 16S rRNA gene with specific primers. The exoU/exoS genotype was detected using conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) by specifically targeting two genes, exoS and exoU.The study found that burn wound infections contained four distinct genotypesof P. aeruginosa, and these genotypes exhibited substantial differences (P<0.001). The exoU-/exoS+ genotype exhibited a significantly higher prevalence of 75% (60 out of 80 isolates), whereas the exoU-/exoS- genotype had a comparatively lower prevalence of 5% (4 out of 80 isolates). At the same time, a lower percentage of isolates, 6.25 % (5 out of 80 isolates), was found to contain the exoU gene only (exoU+/exoS- genotype). Notably, 11 isolates (13.75 %) exhibited the presence of both exoS and exoU (exoU+/exoS+ genotype; a highly virulence isolate).bioinformatics analysis indicates that other bacterial species, such as Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, and Acinetobacter baumannii, can produce ExoU toxin. The findingsprovide valuable insights into the genetic diversity of P. aeruginosa in burn wound infections, with the presence of highly virulent strains harbouring two genes (exoSand exoU gene).

Goal Conflict among Twelfth-Grade Students based on Gender and Major
...Show More Authors

The aim of the current study is to identify the level of goal conflict with twelfth-grade students in South Sharqiah/ Sultanate of Oman according to gender and specialization. The study used the descriptive method. A scale of (28) items was developed and divided into six dimensions: time pressure, goal achievement, limit of power, limit of budget, incompatible strategies, and unclear task. To validate the scale, it was piloted (40) students. The scale was administered to a sample of (402) students (209) males in the Governorate of South Sharqiah. The results showed that the conflict level was high in “unclear task”, and an average conflict level in “limit of power”. Other dimensions (goal achievement, time pressure, limit of powe

This review paper examines the crucial impact of YouTube on learning English as a Foreign Language. Recently, learners’ interaction and development of their skills have been improved due to the integration of digital platforms into language education. YouTube is regarded as one of the most prevalent platforms due to its accessibility, multimodal content, and capacity to simulate real-life communication. This study tackles thirty selected research articles from various cultural and institutional backgrounds to identify the pedagogical benefits and challenges associated with using YouTube in teaching English. Conventional methods of teaching English as a foreign language encounter difficulties in improving students’ engagement and

The current research aims to show the correlation between cognitive sharing and perfectionism of Kindergarten pepartment students, to identify the level of cognitive sharing of kindergarten pepartment students and to identify the level of perfectionism among students. The research sample consisted of 100 students from the kindergarten pepartment College of Education for women, Baghdad University for the academic year 2024-2025. They were selected in an accessible manner. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the scale of cognitive sharing was adopted after verifying its validity and reliability and anolher scale for perfections. Background: This in vitro study was carried out to investigate the effect of post space regions (coronal, middle and apical), the effect of post types ( Manually Milled Zirconia post, Prefabricated Fiber post, prefabricated Zirconia post) and the type of cement used (GIC, self-adhesive resin cement) on the bond strength between the posts and root dentin by using push-out test. Material and methods: Forty eight mandibular premolars extracted for orthodontic reasons (single rooted) were instrumented with ProTaper system (hand use) and obturated with gutta percha for ProTaper using AH26® root canal sealer following the manufacturer instructions. ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF BIOFILM PRODUCING ENTEROCOCCUS FAECALIS FROM ROOT CANAL

This study was aimed to one of the most prevalent causes for endodontic treatment failure is the presence of Enterococcus faecalis bacterium within teeth root canals. To achieve successful treatment, it is so important to study E. faecalis behavior. The aim of study was to investigate biofilm production and antibiotic sensitivity of E. faecalis isolated from root canals. Results showed isolation of E. feacalis (65%) of samples, identified by specific gene by PCR technique. Most isolates were sensitive to Imipenem and resistant to Erythromycin, Clindamycin, Tetracycline and Trimethoprim. Strong biofilm production was detected among 29.5% of highest antibiotic resistant isolates. The results may indicate that infected root canals with E. feac
