A comparative Analytical Investigation of Different Geomagnetic Storms During Solar Cycles 23 and 24
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In this work, the geomagnetic storms that occurred during solar cycles 23 and 24 were classified based on the value of the Disturbance Storm Time index (Dst), which was considered an indicator of the strength of geomagnetic conditions. The special criterion of Dst >-50 nT was adopted in the classification process of the geomagnetic storms based on the minimum daily value of the Dst-index. The number of geomagnetic storms that occurred during the study period was counted according to the adopted criteria, including moderate storms with (Dst >-50 nT), strong storms with (Dst >-100 nT), severe storms with (Dst >-200 nT), and great storms with (Dst >-350 nT). The statistical results showed that the total number of geomagnetic storms identified during solar cycle 23 was 571 storms, while during solar cycle 24, the number of storms decreased to 282 storms. Depending on the minimum value of Dst-index, the geomagnetic storms identified during Cycle 23 were classified into: 446 moderate, 101 strong, 19 severe, and 5 great storms. During Cycle 24, it was classified into: 247 moderate, 34 strong, and 1 severe storm. Also, the results of the study indicated that no storm of either a severe or great type was recorded during the solar cycle 24, given that this cycle witnessed low solar activity. This indicates that solar activity associated with sunspot number (SSN) corresponds to the rate of occurrence and strength of geomagnetic storms of all categories.</p>

In-vivo examination of nasal-to-brain administration for delivering rhodamine B nanospanlastic for fluorescent vesicle imaging
...Show More Authors

This study investigated the efficacy of nasal injection of rhodamine B nanospanlastic (RBN) for magnetic vesicle imaging of specific brain locations. Effective delivery of RBN, which functions as fluorescence agents, to specific brain regions is necessary to achieve fluorescence particle imaging (FPI). There has been interest in nasal administration as a means of administering drugs directly to the brain, thereby circumventing the blood-brain barrier. We offered experimental nasal fluorescence agent administration by in vivo research. Fluorescent tests confirmed that, upon nasal delivery, the intended nanospanlastic migrated into the brain. Furthermore, using fluorescent microscopy, we demonstrated how these nanospanla

New homemade NAG-4SX3-3D analyzer for quantification of cyproheptadine hydrochloride by its precipitating with calcium hexacyanoferrate
...Show More Authors

The present study employed the NAG-4SX3-3D analyzer to precisely measure the energy response of the sensor. The goal was to enhance the understanding of this technology by providing expert information about the device. This technology offers an economical, quick, accurate, and sensitive approach. By utilizing the turbidity method, Cyproheptadine hydrochloride (CPH) was quantified in pharmaceutical samples without the need for additional substances. CPH is expected to undergo a direct reaction with calcium hexacyanoferrate, resulting in the formation of white precipitates. The linear range for CPH measurement falls within the range of (0.008–30) mM. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for six repetitions at concentrations of (6 and

Possible Anti-Asthmatic Effect of Iraqi Ammi Majus Seeds Extract Against Asthma Induced by Ovalbumin in Mice
...Show More Authors

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disorder of airways characterized by inflammation, hyperresponsiveness, inflammatory cell infiltration, mucous secretion, and remodelling. Ammi majus is medicinal plant belong to family of Apiaceous which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. This study designed to investigate of anti-asthmatic activity of alcoholic extract of Ammi majus in improvement of asthma. Forty-eight healthy female mice divided to six groups Group I:  the negative control group (distal water only), Group II: Positive control group (ovalbumin group), Group III: Ammi majus (64 mg/kg/day) with sensitization, Group IV:Ammi majus  (128 mg/kg/day) with sensitization, Group V: Ammi majus (64 mg/kg/day) without sensitiza

The Vertical variations of Atmospheric Methane (CH4) concentrations over selected cities in Iraq based on AIRS data
...Show More Authors

The Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) on EOS/Aqua satellite provides diverse measurements of Methane (CH4) distribution at different pressure levels in the Earth's atmosphere. The focus of this research is to analyze the vertical variations of (CH4) volume mixing ratio (VMR) time-series data at four Standard pressure levels SPL (925, 850, 600, and 300 hPa) in the troposphere above six cities in Iraq from January 2003 to September 2016. The analysis results of monthly average CH4VMR time-series data show a significant increase between 2003 and 2016, especially from 2009 to 2016; the minimum values of CH4 were in 2003 while the maximum values were in 2016. The vertical distribution of CH4<

Abstract
<title>BACKGROUND

This article presents the simultaneous adsorption of bimetal Cu2+ and Zn2+ from an aqueous solution using activated carbon synthesized from a plum seed precursor by sulfuric acid and microwave activation: plum seeds chemically activated by 45% (w/w) sulfuric acid with 2:1 ratio for 4 h, then carbonized for 2 h at 700 °C and the product obtained activated in a microwave oven for 20 min at 700 W for final of activation. Plum seeds and activated carbon produced were characterized in terms of their physical and chemical composition using Brunauer–Emmett–Teller measurements, field emission scanning electr

Performance Evaluation of Two Stages Parallel Flow Indirect Evaporative Cooling with Aspen Pads in Baghdad Climate Conditions
...Show More Authors

This study delves into the realm of advanced cooling techniques by examining the performance of a two-stage parallel flow indirect evaporative cooling system enhanced with aspen pads in the challenging climate of Baghdad. The objective was to achieve average air dry bulb temperatures (43 oC) below the ambient wet bulb temperatures (24.95 oC) with an average relative humidity of 23%, aiming for unparalleled cooling efficiency. The research experiment was carried out in the urban environment of Baghdad, characterized by high temperature conditions. The investigation focused on the potential of the two-stage parallel flow setup, combined with the cooling capability of aspen pads, to surpass the limitat

Assessment of dose‐volume histogram statistics using three‐dimensional conformal techniques in breast cancer adjuvant radiotherapy treatment
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Objective

Breast cancer (BC) is first of the top 10 malignancies in Iraq. Dose‐volume histograms (DVHs) are most commonly used as a plan evaluation tool. This study aimed to assess DVH statistics using three‐dimensional conformal radiotherapies in BC in an adjuvant setting.

Methods

A retrospective study of 70 histologically confirmed women diagnosed with BC was reviewed. The study was conducted between November 2020 and May 2021, planning for treatment with adjuvant three‐dimensional conformal radiotherapies. The treatment plan used for each woman was based on an analysis of the volumetric dose, inclu
