Future of Mathematical Modelling: A Review of COVID-19 Infected Cases Using S-I-R Model
...Show More Authors

The spread of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has resulted in chaos around the globe. The infected cases are still increasing, with many countries still showing a trend of growing daily cases. To forecast the trend of active cases, a mathematical model, namely the SIR model was used, to visualize the spread of COVID-19. For this article, the forecast of the spread of the virus in Malaysia has been made, assuming that all Malaysian will eventually be susceptible. With no vaccine and antiviral drug currently developed, the visualization of how the peak of infection (namely flattening the curve) can be reduced to minimize the effect of COVID-19 disease. For Malaysians, let’s ensure to follow the rules and obey the SOP to lower the R0 value from time to time, hoping that the virus will vanish one day.

Statistical Model for Predicting the Optimum Gypsum Content in Concrete
...Show More Authors

The problem of internal sulfate attack in concrete is widespread in Iraq and neighboring countries. This is because of the high sulfate content usually present in sand and gravel used in it. In the present study the total effective sulfate in concrete was used to calculate the optimum SO3 content. Regression models were developed based on linear regression analysis to predict the optimum SO3 content usually referred as (O.G.C) in concrete. The data is separated to 155 for the development of the models and 37 for checking the models. Eight models were built for 28-days age. Then a late age (greater than 28-days) model was developed based on the predicted optimum SO3 content of 28-days and late age. Eight developed models were built for all

Management Model for Evaluation and Selection of Engineering Equipment Suppliers for Construction Projects in Iraq
...Show More Authors

Engineering equipment is essential part in the construction project and usually manufactured with long lead times, large costs and special engineering requirements. Construction manager targets that equipment to be delivered in the site need date with the right quantity, appropriate cost and required quality, and this entails an efficient supplier can satisfy these targets. Selection of engineering equipment supplier is a crucial managerial process .it requires evaluation of multiple suppliers according to multiple criteria. This process is usually performed manually and based on just limited evaluation criteria, so better alternatives may be neglected. Three stages of survey comprised number of public a

The factorial analysis method consider a advanced statistical way concern in different ways like physical education field and the purpose to analyze the results that we want to test it or measure or for knowing the dimensions of some correlations between common variables that formed the phenomenon in less number of factors that effect on explanation , so we must depend use the self consistent that achieved for reaching that basic request. The goal of this search that depending on techntion of self consistent degree guessing for choosing perfect way from different methods for (orthogonal & oblique) kinds in physical education factor studies and we select some of references for ( master & doctoral) and also the scientific magazine and confere

An investigation into the implications of partial substitution of selenium with lead on the thermal properties for S60Se40-XPbX Chalcogenide Compound
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>This study includes the manufacture of four ternary alloys represented S60Se40-XPbX with weight ratios x = 0, 10, 20, and 30 by the melting point method. The components of each alloy were mixed separately, then placed in quartz ampoules and vacuumed out with a vacuum of roger that 10−4 Torr. The ampule was heated in two stages to avoid sudden dissipation and precipitation of selenium on the inner mass of the quartz tube. The ampoule was gradually heated and kept at 450°C for approximately 4 hours followed by 950°C for 10 hours.at a rate of 10 degrees Celsius, the temperature of the electric furnace</p> ... Show More

Effect of Thermal Neutron Radiation Dose on Density of Local and Extended Energy States in Se<inf>55</inf>S<inf>20</inf>Sb<inf>15</inf>Sn<inf>10</inf> Alloy
...Show More Authors

Four samples of the Se55S20Sb15Sn10 alloy were prepared using the melting point method. Samples B, C and D were irradiated with (6.04×1010, 12.08×1010 and 18.12×1010 (n.cm-2s -1 ) of thermal neutron beam from a neutron source (241Am-9Be) respectively, while sample A was left not irradiated. The electrical properties were assessed both before and after the radiation. All irradiated and non-irradiated samples show three conduction mechanisms, at low temperatures, electrical conductivity is achieved by electron hopping between local states near the Fermi level. At intermediate temperatures, conduction occurs by the jumping of electrons between local states at band tails. At high temperatures, electrons transfer between extended stat

Investigation of halo structure of neutron rich 14B, 15C, 19C and 22N nuclei in the two body model
...Show More Authors

The two body model of (Core+n) within the radial wave functions of the cosh potential has been used to investigate the ground state features such as the proton, neutron and matter densities, the root mean square (RMS) nuclear proton, neutron, charge and mass radii of unstable neutron-rich 14B, 15C, 19C and 22N nuclei. The calculated results show that the two body model with the radial wave functions of the cosh potential succeeds in reproducing neutron halo in these nuclei.

Solar-Induced Photocatalytic Degradation of Reactive Red and Turquoise Dyes Using a Titanium Oxide/Xanthan Gum Composite
...Show More Authors

The present study explores the solar-induced photocatalytic degradation of reactive red (RR) and reactive turquoise (RT) dyes in a single system using TiO2 immobilized in xanthan gum (TiO2/XG), synthesized using the sol–gel dip-coating technique for direct precipitation. SEM-EDX, XRD, FTIR, and UV–Vis were used to assess the characteristics of the resulting catalyst. Moreover, the effects of different operating parameters, specifically pH, dye concentration, TiO2/XG concentration, H2O2 concentration, and contact time, were also investigated in a batch photocatalytic reactor. The immobilized TiO2/XG catalyst showed a slight adsorption degradation efficiency and then improved the RR and RT dye degradation activity (92.5 and 90.8%

Numerical Simulation of Gas Lift Optimization Using Genetic Algorithm for a Middle East Oil Field: Feasibility Study
...Show More Authors
<p>Gas-lift technique plays an important role in sustaining oil production, especially from a mature field when the reservoirs’ natural energy becomes insufficient. However, optimally allocation of the gas injection rate in a large field through its gas-lift network system towards maximization of oil production rate is a challenging task. The conventional gas-lift optimization problems may become inefficient and incapable of modelling the gas-lift optimization in a large network system with problems associated with multi-objective, multi-constrained, and limited gas injection rate. The key objective of this study is to assess the feasibility of utilizing the Genetic Algorithm (GA) technique to optimize t</p> ... Show More
