In this investigation, metal matrix composites (MMC_s) were manufactured by using powder technology. Aluminum 6061 is reinforced with two different ceramics particles (SiC and B₄C) with different volume fractions as (3, 6, 9 and 12 wt. %). In Iraq, B. ascalaphus has been reported from only few localities in western Iraqi deserts;
while its occurrence in Iran has not been reported before this study. In 2017 2020, several
new records of B. ascala phus in western through southeastern Iraq were made and a new
distribution range in western Iran was confirmed. Furthermore, field identification,
interspecific relationships and conservation status of B. ascalaphus in Iraq and Iran were

In this study, gamma-ray spectrometry with an HPGe detector was used to measure the specific activity concentrations of ²²⁶Ra, ²³²Th, and ⁴⁰K in soil samples collected from IT1 oil reservoirs in Kirkuk city, northeast Iraq.
