A New Cipher Based on Feistel Structure and Chaotic Maps
...Show More Authors

Chaotic systems have been proved to be useful and effective for cryptography. Through this work, a new Feistel cipher depend upon chaos systems and Feistel network structure with dynamic secret key size according to the message size have been proposed. Compared with the classical traditional ciphers like Feistel-based structure ciphers, Data Encryption Standards (DES), is the common example of Feistel-based ciphers, the process of confusion and diffusion, will contains the dynamical permutation choice boxes, dynamical substitution choice boxes, which will be generated once and hence, considered static,

While using chaotic maps, in the suggested system, called Chaotic-based Proposed Feistel Cipher System (CPFCS), we made the confusion and diffusion in dynamical behavior based on Standard and Lorenz maps. The first is used for substitution, and the second one for permutation operations .A proposed cryptographic system uses the same work (the same way) for both enciphering and deciphering. The proposed cipher operates on more than 500 bytes (4000-bit) readable text blocks by six round computing. Within the basic operator of the cipher, i.e., in the function of the round F, a dynamical lookup table 2D standard map system is used to enhance the complexity and diffusion of the unreadable text. Also, a 3D Logistic map used for key sequence generator and chaos based dynamical Initial Permutation (dynamical IP) are used to increase the diffusion and confusion. Three different image sizes and three different text length were implemented in CPFCS.  The results of the proposed system and security tests improve the applicability of PFCS in the data protection and security.

Features of news coverage during Covid-19 crisis: Content analysis on a sample of global news accounts on Twitter
...Show More Authors

This study aims to analyze the messages of a number of global news outlets on Twitter. In order to clarify the news outlets tactics of reporting, the subjects and focus during the crisis related to the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The study sample was chosen in a deliberate manner to provide descriptive results. Three news sites were selected: two of the most followed, professional and famous international news sites: New York Times and the Guardian, and one Arab news site: Al-Arabiya channel.

A total of 18,085 tweets were analyzed for the three accounts during the period from (1/3/2020) to (8/4/2020). A content analysis form was used to analyze the content of the news coverage.   The results indicate an increase in th

Crosstalk-Aware Multiple Error Detection Scheme Based on Two-Dimensional Parities for Energy Efficient Network on Chip
...Show More Authors

Achieving reliable operation under the influence of deep-submicrometer noise sources including crosstalk noise at low voltage operation is a major challenge for network on chip links. In this paper, we propose a coding scheme that simultaneously addresses crosstalk effects on signal delay and detects up to seven random errors through wire duplication and simple parity checks calculated over the rows and columns of the two-dimensional data. This high error detection capability enables the reduction of operating voltage on the wire leading to energy saving. The results show that the proposed scheme reduces the energy consumption up to 53% as compared to other schemes at iso-reliability performance despite the increase in the overhead number o

Fuzzy Convergence Sequence and Fuzzy Compact Operators on Standard Fuzzy Normed Spaces
...Show More Authors

The main purpose of this work is to introduce some types of fuzzy convergence sequences of operators defined on a standard fuzzy normed space (SFN-spaces) and investigate some properties and relationships between these concepts. Firstly, the definition of weak fuzzy convergence sequence in terms of fuzzy bounded linear functional is given. Then the notions of weakly and strongly fuzzy convergence sequences of operators  are introduced and essential theorems related to these concepts are proved. In particular, if ( ) is a strongly fuzzy convergent sequence with a limit  where linear operator from complete standard fuzzy normed space  into a standard fuzzy normed space  then  belongs to the set of all fuzzy bounded linear operators

Impact of COVID-19 Vaccine on Hearing Status of Young Ages (Medical College Students as a Sample)
...Show More Authors

Many studies dealt with the consequences of  SARS CoV-2  (which cause COVID-19 infection) on the nervous system especially sensory nerves where the virus causes loss of taste and smell as it’s known, and may affect auditory nerves and be the expected cause of some hearing problems. A case-control analytic study was performed on a connivance sample of society of university students from a medical faculty. Each participant filled out a questionnaire contains demographic data and general, auditory and respiratory health condition, in addition to vaccination status. In the other side, the audio- examinations were performed on the study sample including Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) and tympanometry. Two statistical methods; chi-square and t

A Pattern-Recognizer Artificial Neural Network for the Prediction of New Crescent Visibility in Iraq
...Show More Authors

Various theories have been proposed since in last century to predict the first sighting of a new crescent moon. None of them uses the concept of machine and deep learning to process, interpret and simulate patterns hidden in databases. Many of these theories use interpolation and extrapolation techniques to identify sighting regions through such data. In this study, a pattern recognizer artificial neural network was trained to distinguish between visibility regions. Essential parameters of crescent moon sighting were collected from moon sight datasets and used to build an intelligent system of pattern recognition to predict the crescent sight conditions. The proposed ANN learned the datasets with an accuracy of more than 72% in comp

A NEW RECORD OF COELASTRELLA TERRESTRIS (REISIGL) HEGEWALD & N. HANAGATA, 2002 (SPHAEROPLEALES, SCENEDESMACEAE) IN IRAQ
...Show More Authors

This study identified the genus Coelastrella Chodat, 1922 which was isolated from a sediment sample taken from the Tigris river in Baghdad Governorate, Iraq. The alga was isolated and cultured in modified Chu 10 media and the morphological features of the isolated algae were observed in light microscopy (LM); it showed some characteristic features of this genus, such as its ellipsoidal or lemon- shaped cells, a visible pyrenoid and the chloroplast parietal. To ensure correct identification of the isolated alga, a molecular analysis using 18S rRNA gene and DNA sequencing revealed a match with C. terrestris (Reisigl) Hedewald & N. Hanagata 2002. This species is a new record in Iraq

New chemiluminometric method for the determination of azithromycin in a continuous flow injection analysis system
...Show More Authors

A novel analytical method is developed for the determination of azithromycin. The method utilizes continuous flow injection analysis to enhance the chemiluminescence system of luminol, H2O2, and Cr(III). The method demonstrated a linear dynamic range of 0.001–100 mmol L-1 with a high correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9978, and 0.001–150 mmol L-1 with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9769 for the chemiluminescence emission versus azithromycin concentration. The limit of detection (L.O.D.) of the method was found to be 18.725 ng.50 µL−1 based on the stepwise dilution method for the lowest concentration within the linear dynamic range of the calibration graph. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D. %) for n = 6 was less than 1.2%

A New Practical Method for Predicting Equivalent Drainage Area of Well in Tight Gas Reservoirs
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The tight gas is one of the main types of the unconventional gas. Typically the tight gas reservoirs consist of highly heterogeneous low permeability reservoir. The economic evaluation for the production from tight gas production is very challenging task because of prevailing uncertainties associated with key reservoir properties, such as porosity, permeability as well as drainage boundary. However one of the important parameters requiring in this economic evaluation is the equivalent drainage area of the well, which relates the actual volume of fluids (e.g gas) produced or withdrawn from the reservoir at a certain moment that changes with time. It is difficult to predict this equival</p> ... Show More
