Study of the Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Modified Unsaturated Polyester Blends

There are main methods of scientific research, and that the researcher's choice of the appropriate methodology for scientific research is one of the most important rules on which the researcher must rely in order to prepare scientific research properly. There is no doubt that the methodology of scientific research is of great importance that they all agree on the preparation of accurate scientific research. Scientific research is an organized research that does not come by chance, but comes as a result of the activity of the mind. It is theoretical because it relies on theories for the purposes of perceiving the proportions and relationships between things, and everyone is subjected to testing and experiment.

The performance of a condenser in a domestic refrigerator system without wires and a condenser with a novel design consisted of number of loops as elliptical shape is investigated experimentally in this work. The experiment was conducted with a refrigerator designed to work with HFC134a, under no load and with loads of (1.5,3 and 12 liters of water). In particular, the effects of shape change of the condenser were very important in heat transfer enhancement and reduce of the frictional loss as a result of reducing the pressure drop in the condenser. Chitosan (CH) / Poly (1-vinylpyrrolidone-co-vinyl acetate) (PVP-co-VAc) blend (1:1) and nanocomposites reinforced with CaCO3 nanoparticles were prepared by solution casting method. FTIR analysis, tensile strength, Elongation, Young modulus, Thermal conductivity, water absorption and Antibacterial properties were studied for blend and nanocomposites. The tensile results show that the tensile strength and Young’s modulus of the nanocomposites were enhanced compared with polymer blend [CH/(PVP-co-VAc)] film. The mechanical properties of the polymer blend were improved by the addition of CaCO3 with significant increases in Young’s modulus (from 1787 MPa to ~7238 MPa) and tensile strength (from 47.87 MPa to 79.75 MPa).
