The effect of different doses of gamma rays that emitted from 60Co on the development of different stages of lesser grain borer Rhyzopertha dominica (Fab.) was investigated . The results showed that the eggs in both early (1-3 days) and late (7-9) old were very sensitive to gamma rays and its hatch was zero at 10 Gy for both ages in comparison with 83.3% for the control group. Furthermore, the results illustrated that the larval stage in its two old ages were different in the radiosensitivity, the percent of its death were 100% & 96.6% when they exposed to 100 & 120 Gy, respectively. A detailed investigation of the calcareous nannofossils led to the identification of twenty-four species. Regarding these data, Discolithus litterarius (Górka, 1957) was identified at the studied interval with the age of Early Aptian.

This study aimed to isolate and identify Cryptococcus species from three distinct sources: sputum samples of pigeon fanciers, dried pigeon droppings, and eucalyptus tree leaves. A total of 150 specimens were collected over a two-month period, comprising 50 samples each from human sputum, pigeon droppings collected across various areas of Baghdad, and eucalyptus leaves obtained from the Baghdad College of Veterinary Medicine. To investigate the role of IL-6 and IL-8 in the immune-regulatory mechanisms involved in the recurrent spontaneous abortion of the first trimester of pregnancy. Serum level of IL-6 and IL-8 were determined in 25 women of age (20-35) years who had a spontaneous abortion of unknown aetiology during the first trimester of pregnancy .They were compared with the corresponding levels of 20 pregnant and non-pregnant women as control groups .cytokine levels were measured by (ELISA) technique .The women with spontaneous abortion had highly significant (P < 0.01) increased serum level of IL-8 and highly significant (P < 0.01 ) decreased level of IL-6 compared to those with normal pregnant and non-pregnant women.
