ON THE SPATIAL AND SEASONAL VARIATIONS OF HEAVY METALS OF THE RAZZAZAH LAKE, IRAQ
...Show More Authors

Five heavy metals, namely Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, and Pb in the surface water and through the water column were studied at 10 selected stations in the Razzazah lake and Karbala drainage canal for the period between November 1990 to October 1991*. pH and total hardness were also measured. Lead was found to be the highest in concentration as overall average values, followed by an manganese, iron, copper then cadmium at the surface as well as along the water column. All the studied metals were below or close to the maximum allowed limits of Iraqi standards for inland water. The spatial and seasonal variations were discussed.

DETECTION OF ENTEROTOXINS OF Staphylococcus aureus IN MILK AND LOCOLLY SOFT CHEESES IN BAGHDAD CITY: DETECTION OF ENTEROTOXINS OF Staphylococcus aureus IN MILK AND LOCOLLY SOFT CHEESES IN BAGHDAD CITY
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to detect of contamination of milk and local soft cheese with Staphylococcus aureus and their enterotoxins with attempt to detect the enterotoxin genes in some isolates of this bacteria. A total of 120 samples, 76 of raw milk and 44 of soft cheese were collected from different markets of Baghdad city. Enterotoxins in these samples were detected by VIDAS Set 2 system and it was found that enterotoxin A is present in a rate of 44.74% in milk samples and in a rate 54.50% in cheese samples. While other enterotoxins B, C, D, E were not found in any rate in any samples.
Through the study 60 isolates obtained from milk and cheeses were identified as Staphylococcus aureus by cultural, morphological and biochemical test by u

WATER QUALITY INDICES FOR TIGRIS RIVER IN BAGHDAD CITY
...Show More Authors

Due to the deterioration of water quality within the last few years because of the increase of water consumption and the waste water production and disposal into the river The water quality in both surface and ground water resources was negatively affected .The concept of water quality index is used as a tool for water quality classification in Tigris River within Baghdad City .Twenty two parameters of pollution were selected to measure the water quality indices of Tigris river within Baghdad city .Those parameters were measured during (2000-2004)as average monthly values ,three water treatment plants were selected out of the eight water treatment plants that exist along the river.Al Kharkh water treatment plant to reflect the water quality

Mathematical Modeling and Kinetics of Removing Metal Ions from Industrial Wastewater
...Show More Authors

The study's objective is to produce Nano Graphene Oxide (GO) before using it for batch adsorption to remove heavy metals (Cadmium Cd+2, Nickel Ni+2, and Vanadium V+5) ions from industrial wastewater. The temperature effect (20-50) °C and initial concentration effect (100-800) mg L-1 on the adsorption process were studied. A simulation aqueous solution of the ions was used to identify the adsorption isotherms, and after the experimental data was collected, the sorption process was studied kinetically and thermodynamically. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherm models were used to fit the data. The results showed that Cd, Ni, and V ions on the GO adsorbing surface matched the Langmuir model with correlation coefficients (R2)

Emergency of Edge city between Regeneration and Acclimatization Urban
...Show More Authors

In the nineteenth century, a new type of cities appeared, known as new cities located on the edges of major cities, and these cities began to  decentralization, urban studies turned to this type of cities to find out the most important reasons for the emergence of new cities and find out what those cities will become . Therefore, we will discuss in this research how the urban emergence of these cities (edge cities) occurs, so the research formulates its problem : The need to know the stages that edge cities go through, ending with their emergence, and the mechanisms that cities take within their context  ( regeneration or adaptation ), Assuming that edge cities are a

The conversational imperative in Al Qiyam Al Fatimy speech
...Show More Authors

This study falls within the core of the deliberative theory, as this research seeks to highlight the concept of dialogical imputation that is present in all the discourses received by the recipient, and that this is not limited to dialogues, and that is why it is called (deliberative imperative). This is in agreement with the deliberative and functional approach that sees literary discourse as a dialogical and fulfilling necessity, due to its attachment to artistic connotations and submerged meanings in the saying. The allotted obligation and its impact on determining the purposes: The specific implication represented an important axis of pragmatic research, and a major concern in the work of discourse analysis. Because of its great importa

Grammatical and rhetorical methods   In Surat Al - Iftar
...Show More Authors

I started writing the research because of the linguistic and rhetorical methods in the Holy Quran.
This Sura included in all its verses the plural form such as the word planets graves and seas except the word sky was singular as the name of a genus, and this Sura showed the horrors of the Day of Judgment at the world level Included another science is the science of the interview and also came in the repetition and deletion and other linguistic and rhetorical things and concluded this Sura that the goal of breaking the sky and scattering planets and scatter graves is the human himself.
The Koran is a miracle immortal and science is still drawn from him each according to his specialty.

Influence of Nanosilica on Solvent Deasphalting for Upgrading Iraqi Heavy Crude Oil
...Show More Authors

In this study, the upgrading of Iraqi heavy crude oil was achieved utilizing the solvent deasphalting approach (SDA) and enhanced solvent deasphalting (e-SDA) by adding Nanosilica (NS). The NS was synthesized from local sand. The XRD result, referred to as the amorphous phase, has a wide peak at 2Θ= (22 - 23º) The inclusion of hydrogen-bonded silanol groups (Si–O–H) and siloxane groups (Si–O–Si) in the FTIR spectra. The SDA process was handled using n-pentane solvent at various solvent to oil ratios (SOR) (4-16/1ml/g), room and reflux temperature, and 0.5 h mixing time. In the e-SDA process, various fractions of the NS (1–7 wt.%) have been utilized with 61 nm particle size and 560.86 m²/g surface area in the presence of 12 m
