Synthesis, Characterization and Antibacterial Activity of Cefalexin Dervatives
...Show More Authors

New series of Schiff bases 2(a-j) and corresponding beta-lactam derivatives 3(a-j) were synthesized from cefalexin (1) as starting material. The compound (1) was reacted with different aldehydes and ketones to give Schiff bases derivatives 2(a-j). The synthesized Schiff bases were cyclized by chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine to form beta-lactam derivatives 3(a-j). The compounds were characterized by deremination melting point, FT-IR and 1H NMR. The beta-lactam derivatives were screened in vitro antibacterial against some bacterial species

...Show More Authors

This study aims to prepare new compounds and investigate them spectroscopically and biologically against selected types of positive and negative bacteria and fungi to demonstrate their biological effectiveness. The prepared ligand combining formaldehyde, indole, sulfa benzamide, and 2-mercapto benzimidazole, a Mannich base ligand (L) was synthesized. The six metal ions including Cobalt (II), Nickel (II), Copper (II), Palladium (II), Platinum (IV), and gold (III) have interacted with the ligand and formed new complexes. Different spectroscopic methods, including C.H.N.S., FTIR, UV- Range visible, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, mass spectra, magnetic moment, and molar conductivity were used to suggest the new geometry of the complexes. The resul

A novel Schiff base (SB) ligand, abbreviated as HDMPM, resulted from the condensation of 2-amino-4-phenyl-5-methyl thiazole and 4-(diethylamino)salicyaldehyde, and its metal complexes with [Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II)] ions in high yield were formed. The physico-chemical techniques such as elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, 1H and 13C NMR, mass spectroscopy, and electronic absorption studies were utilized to characterize the synthesized compounds. The studied compounds were examined for their possible anticancer activity against a number of human cancerous cell lines, including A549 lung carcinoma, HepG2 liver cancer, HCT116 colorectal cancer, and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines, with doxorubicin serving as the standard. Complexes of 1-phenyl-3-(2(-5-(phenyl amino)-1,3,4- thiadiazole-2-yl)phenyl) thiourea have been prepared and characteized by elemental analysis, Ff-[R, and u.v./ visible spectra moreover, determination of metal content M%o by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy, molar conductance in DMSO solution and magnetic moments (peffl. The result showed that the ligand (L) was coordinated to Mn*2, Ni*2, Ct*2,2n*2,Cd*2, and Hg*2 ions through the nitrogen atoms and sulpher atoms. From the result obtained, rhe following general formula [MLClz] has been given for the prepared complexes with an octahedral geometry around the metal ions for all complexes. where M= Mn*2, Ni*2, cu*2, zn*z, cd*z, and Hg*2 l= l-phenyl-3-(2-(5-(phenyl amino)-1, 3,

Abstract:

The aerial part of Ephedra foliata Family Ephedraceae have long been used in traditional medicine and now Ephedra species have medicinal, ecological, and commercial value. The variety of pharmacological actions of this plant is due to its chemical constituents. Ephedrine and
related alkaloids; are the newly potential medicinal value of Ephedra supplements for weight loss or performance improvement. Other pharmacological actions like antibacterial and antifungal effects of the phenolic acid compounds, the immunosuppressive action of the polysaccharides, and the antitumor action of flavonoids. The genus of this plant wildly distributed t

Synthesis of ZnS QDs with Different Values of pH and White Light Generation from Fabrication of TPD: PMMA/ZnS Hybrid Devices
...Show More Authors

Quantum dots (QDs) of zinc sulfide (ZnS) was prepared by chemical reaction with different potential of hydrogen (pH) and used to fabricate organic quantum dot hybrid junction device. The optical properties of QDs were characterized by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis.) and photoluminescence (PL) spectrometer. The results show that the prepared QDs were nanocrystalline with defects formation. The energy gap (Eg)calculated from PL were 3.64, 3.53 and 3.35 eV for pH=8, 10 and 12 respectively. This decreasing of energy gaps is results of the effect the pH solution increases, which in turn leads to the shifted of the PL spectrum toward red shifted, which makes the energy bands at surface states are shallow ban

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Studies of new ligand N-((4-(phenylamino)phenyl)carbamothioyl)acetamide with some Divalent Metal Ion Complexes
...Show More Authors

A new ligand N-((4-(phenylamino) phenyl) carbamothioyl) acetamide (PCA) was synthesized by reaction of (4-amino di phenyl amine) with (acetyl isothiocyante) by using acetone as a solvent. The prepared ligand(PCA) has been characterization by elemental analysis (CHNS), infrared(FT-IR),electronic spectral (UV-Vis)&1H,13C- NMR spectra. Some Divalent Metal ion complexes of ligand (PCA) were prepared and spectroscopic studies by infrared(FT-IR), electronic spectral (UV-Vis), molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption. The results measured showed the formula ofFall prepared complexes were [M (PCA)2 Cl2] (M+2 = Mn, Co, Ni, CU, Zn, Cd &Hg),the proposed geometrical structure for all complexes wereeoctahedral.

Synthesis, In Silico, and Biological Evaluation of Non‐Hydroxamate Benzoic Acid–Based Derivatives as Potential Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors (HDACi)
...Show More Authors
ABSTRACT<p>Unregulated epigenetic modifications, including histone acetylation/deacetylation mediated by histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs), contribute to cancer progression. HDACs, often overexpressed in cancer, downregulate tumor suppressor genes, making them crucial targets for treatment. This work aimed to develop non‐hydroxamate benzoic acid–based HDAC inhibitors (HDACi) with comparable effect to the currently four FDA‐approved HDACi, which are known for their poor solubility, poor distribution, and significant side effects. All compounds were structurally verified using FTIR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, and mass spectrometry. In silico ana</p> ... Show More
