Aspirin Derivatives Exploration: A Review on Comparison Study with Parent Drug

In recent decades, drug modification is no longer unusual in the pharmaceutical world as living things are evolving in response to environmental changes. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as aspirin is a common over-the-counter drug that can be purchased without medical prescription. Aspirin can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandin by blocking the cyclooxygenase (COX) which contributes to its properties such as anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antiplatelet and etc. It is also being considered as a chemopreventive agent due to its antithrombotic actions through the COX’s inhibition. However, the prolonged use of aspirin can cause heartburn, ulceration, and gastro-toxicity in children and adults. This review article highlights the recent derivatives of aspirin, either to reduce the risk of side effects or to obtain better physicochemical properties. Aspirin derivatives can be synthesized in various pathways and have been reported to give better biological activities such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, etc., compared to the parent drug. The presence of significant moieties such as nitric oxide (NO), NOSH, thiourea, azo, amide, and chalcone on the modified aspirin play important roles in achieving desired biological activities. The addition of the halogen in the modification has also become a preference among researchers as it also affects the actions due to its ability to hinder bacterial activity. This review is also sharing about the bulkiness effect of certain aspirin modifications that may cause steric hindrance of the compounds and influence their penetration into the enzyme’s active site. Overall, these aspirin modifications are safe to be considered as potential pharmaceutical agents.

Study the Effect of Cutting Parameters on Temperature Distribution and Tool Life During Turning Stainless Steel 316L

This paper is focused on studying the effect of cutting parameters (spindle speed, feed and depth of cut) on the response (temperature and tool life) during turning process. The inserts used in this study are carbide inserts coated with TiAlN (Titanum, Aluminium and Nitride) for machining a shaft of stainless steel 316L. Finite difference method was used to find the temperature distribution. The experimental results were done using infrared camera while the simulation process was performed using Matlab software package. Study of Effect of Diesel Fuel Energy Rate in Duel Fuel on Performance of Compression Ignition Engine

The aim of this work is to study the effect of diesel fuel percentage on the combustion processes in compression ignition engine using dual – fuel (diesel and LPG).

 The brake thermal efficiency increased with the increase of diesel fuel rate at low loads, and decreased when load increased. To get sufficient operation in engine fueled with dual fuel, it required sufficient flow rate of diesel fuel, if the engine fueled with insufficient diesel fuel erratic operation with miss fire cycles presented.

Dual-fuel operation at part load showed higher specific fuel consumption than straight diesl operation. At full loads, brake specific fuel consumption of duel fuel engine approaches that for diesel fuel values.

Experimental Study of the Effect of Fuel Type on the Emitted Emissions from SIE at Idle Period

The present study investigated the impact of fuel kind on the emitted emissions at the idling period. Three types of available fuels in Iraq were tested. The tests conducted on ordinary gasoline with an octane number of 82, premium gasoline with an octane number of 92, and M20 (consist of 20% methanol and 80% regular gasoline). The 2 liters Mercedes-Benz engine was used in the experiments.

The results showed that engine operation at idle speed emits high levels of CO, CO2, HC, NOx and noise. The produced emission levels depend highly on fuel type.
