Effect of Using Air Guide Net in Front of the Condenser on the Performance of Automobile Air Conditioning System
...Show More Authors

The work of this paper is an investigation to improve the condenser performance of the automobile air conditioning system by enhancing the air-side heat transfer from the condenser through the use of an air guide net installed in front of the condenser face which is basically an aluminum plate having a circular entrance shape for the air passage.  The A/C system was examined under two types of test. The first test was conducted the air guide net, while the second was done with the air guide net. The performances of the A/C system under these tests were compared. For the second type of test, the experiment was carried out with three different size of air guide net, three different circular diameters (2, 3 and 3.5 cm) and a common air passage area. The effect of varying the size of the air guide net and its inclination angle was investigated. The experimental work included five inclination angles (0o, 5o, 10o, 15o and 20o). It was found that the presence of the air guide net caused an improvement in the performance of the A/C system for all sizes and inclination angles.  In addition, the electrical energy consumed by the A/C system without the air guide net was calculated and compared to those obtained for the A/C system with the air guide net. The results manifested that the reduction of the power consumption was enhanced by operating the A/C system with the air guide net.

Background: Background: Helicobacter pylori is an important gastrointestinal bacteria related to the development of  superficial atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. Human leukocyte antigens (HLA) may play an important roles in host immune responses to H pylori antigens.

Aim of the study: to investigate the association between HLA-DRB1 genotypes and superficial gastritis with H. pylori infection in an Iraqi patients.

Patients and methods: Sixty patients with superficial gastritis and 100 individuals with apparently normal results after endoscopic examination were recruited from Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital - G

Background: There is plenty of evidence
suggesting that involvement of several groups of
viruses in the development and / or acceleration of
Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM).
Objective: To analyze the T- cell proliferation in
the presence of Coxsackie virus B5 (CVB5), Polio
and Adenovirus antigens in addition to assessment
of Interferon- gamma (IFN-γ), Interleukins (IL-10
and IL-6).
Methods: In 60 Iraqi T1DM children with recent
onset of T1DM, Lymphocyte proliferation was
analyzed using Methylthiazol tetrazolium (MTT)
assay by culturing Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes
(PBLs) with Coxsackie Virus B5 (CVB5),
Adenovirus, and Polio vaccine. Serum Interferon-γ,

Multi-Objective Evolutionary Framework for High-Precision Community Detection in Complex Networks
...Show More Authors

Community detection is one of the most fundamental applications in understanding the structure of complicated networks. Furthermore, it is an important approach to identifying closely linked clusters of nodes that may represent underlying patterns and relationships. Networking structures are highly sensitive in social networks, requiring advanced techniques to accurately identify the structure of these communities. Most conventional algorithms for detecting communities perform inadequately with complicated networks. In addition, they miss out on accurately identifying clusters. Since single-objective optimization cannot always generate accurate and comprehensive results, as multi-objective optimization can. Therefore,we utilized two objective

HEPATITIS B VIRUS GENOTYPES IN IRAQI PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS B INFECTION
...Show More Authors

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a serious disease of the liver and signifies a major worldwide health concern. HBV Genotyping is vital for further epidemiological study, predicting the disease outcome and response to treatment. The current study aimed to determine hepatitis B virus genotypes in patients with chronic hepatitis B, and to validate possible associations with the baseline characteristics of the disease. A total of 90 patients with chronic hepatitis B infection were enrolled in this study. Liver function tests, hepatitis B virus markers and DNA viral load were done using routine standardized procedures. HBV genotyping was performed using real time PCR. Genotype D was the most predominant in 64 (71.1%) of samples, while

Employing semantic coding to build meaning in action films: ابراهيم خلف جاسم
...Show More Authors

Action films employ many artistic and literary elements that contribute greatly to building the general meaning of the film and push the wheel of the film forward. The element of mystery and suspense is used as two basic elements in action films. The cinematic language in action films depends on global coding, which is not models as it might be. It is based on logic, rather as units that aspire to morphology and not their homogeneity as the physical sense, but as the logical harmony of interpretive authority and enlightenment and in action films as a field of communication and a field in its origin in which the signifier contrasts with the perceptions of the meaning and in it takes a certain number of units preventing each other and thro

Renewable energy (solar energy) and its potential for electricity generation in Iraq
...Show More Authors

The world's renewable energy sources have taken on great importance, for its cleanness and its environmental effects as well as being a renewable source, Increased demand for fossil energy sources is also causing global warming and climate change. Iraq is an appropriate area for renewable energy This study shows that renewable alternative energy has not been used sufficiently enough at present. But this energy can play an important role in the future of renewable energy in Iraq. This research aims to study the renewable energy in Iraq (solar energy) and it is appropriate to develop this alternative energy for crude oil, which is characterized by the use of the most appropriate and less economical and more environmentally friendly. Thymoquinone Attenuates Immune Mediated Liver Injury Induced by Concanavalin A in Mice
...Show More Authors

Autoimmune hepatitis is an inflammatory disease and its incidence has been increasing. The features of hepatitis are the release of inflammatory cytokines, the elevation of AST and ALT, and hepatocyte apoptosis and necrosis. Concanavalin A considered as essential model represents the acute immune-mediated liver damage in rodents. Thymoquinone is well known herbal compound that exert hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activity. In this study, we focus on the immunoregulatory and liver protective effect of thymoquinone in a mouse model of concanavalin A-induced liver injury.

Twenty-four male mice were randomly divided into four groups each containing six animals: Negative control group, concanavalin A model group,

This study highlights the problems of translating Shakespeare's food and drink-related insults (henceforth FDRIs) in (Henry IV, Parts I&II) into Arabic. It adopts (Vinay & Darbelnet's:1950s) model, namely (Direct& Oblique) to highlight the applicability of the different methods and procedures made by the two selected translators (Mashati:1990 & Habeeb:1905) .The present study tries to answer the following questions:(i) To what extent the FDRIs in Henry IV might pose a translational problem for the selected translators to find suitable cultural equivalents for them? (ii) Why do the translators, in many cases, resort to a literal procedure which is almost not worka

Reducing Cardiovascular Risk in Lupus Pregnancy: A Structured Multi-Phasic Management Model
...Show More Authors

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease that affects 43.7 per 100,000 people worldwide, most commonly presenting in childbearing years. SLE pregnancies are complicated by cardiovascular events in up to 7.8% of cases, which translates to a 3.2- to 31.5-fold increase in severe maternal morbidity and a seven-fold increase in maternal mortality, compared to the general obstetric population. The highest risk is reported in cases with concurrent lupus nephritis or antiphospholipid syndrome [1]. These complications are not surprisingly seen; they are the end result of endothelial dysfunction, immune aberration, and placental dysfunction that precedes clinical decompensation by weeks [2,3].The current approach in mana
