An observational study to discover the common conditions affecting the lumbosacral region that may affect lumbosacral position and tension. All the patients, underwent MRI exaamination (magnetic resonance imaging) in the supine position, were examined by the same consultant radiologist. The article was revised by the institutional ethical approval committee. The position of the nerve roots was observed, and the number of nerve roots was calculated anterior to a line passing between the mid-transvers process of L3(third lumbar vertebra). Background: Neural tube defects (NTDs) are said to be inherited in a multifactorial fashion, i.e. genetic-environmental interaction. Maternal nutritional deficiencies had long been reported to cause NTDs, especially folate deficiency during early pregnancy. More attention had been paid to the exact mechanism by which this deficiency state causes these defects in the developing embryo. The most significant of all researches was that connecting reduced folate and increased homocysteine level in maternal serum on one hand and the risk of developing a NTD baby on the other hand. The goal of this research is to identify superstition that university students have in Libya and Iraq, with a comparison between the two. Furthermore, this research aims to identify significant differences in superstition among university students according to gender, study grade and study course.

The researcher explored the historical development of superstition and some explanatory theories of this human phenomenon. He also presented a number of previous foreign and Arab researches. He also designed a questionnaire on common superstitious ideas among university students in both Iraq and Libya.
