Learning vocabulary is a challenging task for female English as a foreign language (EFL) students. Thus, improving students’ knowledge of vocabulary is critical if they are to make progress in learning a new language. Abstract

The study aims to reveal the level of inclusion of citizenship values in the English language textbooks (We Can) series for elementary education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this objective, the "content analysis" methodology was used. A content analysis card was designed to include (6) main areas of citizenship values, it consisted of (28) sub-indicators of citizenship values that were supposed to be included in the English language textbook series (We Can) for elementary education. The successive international changes in the economic, political, cultural and other fields resulted in many phenomena that occupied different levels of interest, and have been followed up, studied and analysed by specialists and researchers especially under the development of the media in the global communication.

Even though these phenomena had reflections in the communication domain like development and changes in the mechanism of behaviours between the international communities, they created in the meantime a phenomenon that caused an imbalance in the production, spread and the use of the informations that were supposed to be for fewer than 5 countries whereas it actually it is for more than 180 countries.

Idioms are found in any language of the world. But such a number of winged phrases, as in Russian, is nowhere else. Idioms play a role in displaying the national-cultural characteristics of any language. They very clearly and accurately reflect the characteristics of the perception of the world, the characteristic features of the material and spiritual life of native speakers, his mentality.
