Performance Evaluation of TB-LAMP in the Diagnosis of Pulmonary Tuberculosis
...Show More Authors

Background: Tuberculosis (TB), caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), is one of the most common infectious diseases, especially in countries with limited healthcare resources. Early and accurate diagnosis is essential to curb its spread, and loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a rapid, cost-effective, and reliable molecular diagnostic method. Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of TB-LAMP as a rapid and reliable diagnostic tool for pulmonary TB and compare it with direct smears and Gene Xpert, using culture as a reference. Materials: Between February and July 2025, a total of 397 patients (227 men and 170 women) were enrolled in the study. Samples were tested by smear microscopy, culture, Xpert MTB/RIF, and TB-LAMP. Results: Of the 397 patients, 84 (21.15%) were culture-positive. Among culture-positive patients, 81 (96.4%) were positive by Gene Xpert, 69 (82.1%) by TB-LAMP, and 49 (58.3%) by direct smear microscopy. Using culture as the reference standard, the specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of the TB-LAMP assay were 82.1% (73.9%–90.3%), 99.0% (97.9%–100%), 95.8% (91.2%–100%), and 95.4% (93.1%–97.7%), respectively. Conclusions: The TB-LAMP assay exhibits high diagnostic accuracy for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis , making it a rapid, cost-effective, and reliable alternative to conventional methods, especially in resource-poor settings.

The mediating effect of organizational innovation climate on enhancing the relationship between talent development practices and organizational performance
...Show More Authors

The current, research, aims, to, verify, the relationship between talent development practices and organizational performance through a mediating role of creative organizational climate at the Institution of Industrial Development and Research- the Iraqi Industry Ministry. The descriptive and analytic approach was adopted as a research design. The research sample was represented by a number of managers and employees who work at the middle management level. The researchers used the questionnaire as the main method for collecting data to achieve the main research objective. It was distributed 162 questionnaires, of which 146 received; and then all of those were used on the final statistical analysis. The sample response-rate rate w

Evaluation ofAaspirin, Clopidogrel or Their Combination In Hypertensive Patients
...Show More Authors

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of aspirin, clopidogrel or their combination on different parameters in hypertensive patients.Platelets adhesion, activation, and aggregation are central to thrombus formation, which follows atherosclerotic plaque disruption and causes acute coronary syndromes. Aspirin and clopidogrel exert their antiplatelet effects by inhibiting thromboxane A2 production and adenosine diphosphate–induced platelet aggregation pathways, respectively. This study was designed to evaluate the possible effects of aspirin and clopidogrel given either alone or in combination in patients with essential hypertension on blood pressure and other parameters in addition to lipid profile using a randomized

Background: Studies discussing the correlation between biochemical markers of bone turnover and the diagnosis of osteoporosis in postmenopausal Iraqi women are rare. This study is devoted to find out the significance of serum osteocalcin (OC) and osteopontin (OPN) levels with the incidence of osteoporosis and its major complication (fracture). Objectives: to investigate the significance of bone turnover biochemical markers; serum osteocalcin and serum osteopontin in evaluating osteoporosis for postmenopausal Iraqi women with and without history of vertebral fracture, as well as to explore the relationship of these markers with bone mineral density (BMD).Methods: Fifty seven postmenopausal women whose ages are fifty years old and over, cat

A fluorescence microscopy considered as a powerful imaging tool in biology and medicine. In addition to useful signal obtained from fluorescence microscopy, there are some defects in its images such as random variation in brightness, noise that caused by photon detection and some background pixels in the acquired fluorescence microscopic images appear wrongly auto-fluorescence property. All these practical limitations have a negative impact on the correct vision and analysis of the fluorescent microscope users. Our research enters the field of automation of image processing and image analysis using image processing techniques and applying this processing and analysis on one of the very important experiments in biology science. Training and retraining of teachers have become a central issue in Iraq recently especially in-service training of English teachers on the new curricula (Iraq opportunities). English teachers should be objectively evaluated and assessed.
A sample of (40) trained teachers of English is included in the study and a questionnaire is used as the main instrument of the study.
The main findings of the study were the following:
1. The trainees were serious in training on the new course (item 6) the programme helped increase their information (item 4) and motivate them towards better teaching (item 3). The aims of the programme were clear (item1). The programme helped develop their teaching skills (item 2) and was comprehensive (item 5).
