The research included the preparation and characterization of the new 4-ethyl-3-thiocimecarbazide ligand; N1-(dimethylcarbamoyl)-N2-ethylhydrazine-1, 2-bis (carbo-thiomide)(L). Three transition metal complexes were isolated from the mixing of the title ligand with the metal ions of (Ni (II), Co (II), and Cu (II)). The reaction was performed by mixing metal ligand in a 1: 1 mole ratio using EtOH as the medium. The chemical formula of L complexes is presented as follows;[LNiCl2H2O],[LCoCl2H2O] and [LCuCl2H2O], The entity of the expected structure of the ligand and its metal complexes were illustrated through a range of physicochemical techniques. These include; FT-IR, electronic spectra, 1H-and 13C-NMR spectra, elemental analysis (CHNS), chloride content, metal content, melting point, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The spectral and analytical analyses concluded the isolation of …
It was aimed to understand the interleukin-4 (IL-4) role in etio-pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Two approaches were adopted. In the first one, a quantitative expression of IL4 gene was assessed by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), and such findings were correlated with some demographic, clinical and laboratory parameters, which included gender, duration of disease, disease activity score (DAS-28), rheumatoid factors (RFs), C-reactive protein (CRP) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (ACCP) antibodies. In the second approach, a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of IL4 gene (rs2243250) was inspected by DNA sequencing using specific primers. Fifty-one Iraqi RA patients (22 males and 29 fem

This paper intends to evaluate the levels of endogenous antioxidant proteins metallothionein 2 (MT2) and metallothionein 4 (MT4) in the serum of both infertile and fertile women, as well as to assess the association between these proteins and total oxidant capacity (TOC), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), oxidative stress index (OSI), serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), and serum testosterone. This case-control study involved one hundred eighty Iraqi women, categorized into three categories: primary infertile women (P group), secondary infertile women (S group), and healthy fertile women (C group). The disease has remained largely uncured till date. The use of plant extracts or phytochemicals along with the anti-TB drugs is a very attractive strategy to make the treatment more effective as phytochemicals have no side-effects, are much less toxic than synthetic anti-TB drugs, are safe to use and most importantly, do not produce resistant strains as opposed to synthetic anti-TB drugs. Approximately 420,000 plant species have been identified globally and among them only a few have been explored for their therapeutic potential. Traditional medicine in different parts of the world has employed crud

Topological indices are numerical values connected with chemical molecular graphs that contribute to understanding a chemical compounds physical qualities, chemical reactivity, and biological activity. In this study, we have obtained some topological properties of the first dominating David derived (DDD) networks and computed several K-Banhatti polynomials of the first type of DDD.
Two homopolymeric and three copolymeric additives for base oil were synthesized using octyl acrylate (OA) and tert-butyl acrylamide (TBA) monomers. The two additives named P1 and P2 are the homopolymers of TBA and OA, respectively, whereas copolymeric additives named Co1, Co2, and Co3 were synthesized by varying the ratios of TBA:OA as 1:3, 3:1 and 1:1, respectively. The prepared polymers were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Based on the solubility of synthesized polymers in base oil and reactivity ratios of TBA/OA copolymer (0.222, 0.434) calculated by Fineman-Ross method, P2, Co1, Co2 and Co3 were selected to evaluate their performance as pour point depressant (PPD), viscosity improver (VII), and anticorrosion addit

Show MoreThe reaction of 2, 4, 6-trihydroxyactophenonemonohydrate with hydrazine monohydrate was realized under reflux in methanol and a few drops of glacial acetic acid were added to give the (intermediate) 2-(1-hydrazono-ethyl)-benzene-1, 3, 5-triol, which reacted with salicylaldehyde in methanol to give a new type (NO) ligand [HL][(2-1-[(2-hydroxy-benzyliidene)-hydrazono]-ethyl) benzene-1, 3, 5-triol. The ligand was reacted with Mcl.(where M-Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) under reflux in methanol with (l: 1) ratio to give complexes of the general formula [M (HL)]. All compounds have been characterized by spectroscopic methods I" H NMR, IR. UV-Vis, HPLC, atomic absorption] microanalysis along with conductivity measurement. From the above data the proposed mo

Show MoreBased on the diazotization reaction of 4-aminoacetophenone with sodium nitrite in acid medium to form diazonium salt, which was coupled with Methyldopa to form a violet reddish soluble azo dye with maximum absorbance at 560 nm,a batch procedure had been developed for the estamination of Methyldopa. Under optimum experimental parameters affecting on the development and stability of the colored product, Beer´s law obeyed in the range (0.5-45) ?g.ml-1 with a correlation coefficient (0.9979).The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of Methyldopa in either pure form and in commercial brands of pharmaceuticals, no interference was observed from common excipients in the formulations.
