Objective(s): Biocompatibility, non-toxicity, minimal allergenicity, and biodegradability are all characteristics of chitosan. Other biological properties of chitosan have been reported, including antitumor, antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. This research aim is the synthesis of drug compounds by preparation and characterization of polymer chitosan Schiff base and chitosan Schiff base / Poly vinyl alcohol / poly vinyl pyrrolidone Nanocomposite and study applications (anticancer cell line, antimicrobial agents). Methods: Chitosan Schiff base was prepared from the reaction of chitosan with carbonyl group of 4-nitro benzaldehyde. Polymer blend have been prepared by solution casting method. Chitosan Schiff base mixing with PVA and PVP

Show MoreSix mixed ligand complexes were prepared from malonic acid (MA), nicotinic acid (NA), and 2-aminopyridine (AP) in a (1:1:1:1) molar ratio (M: MA: NA: AP.), using aqueous ethanol as a reaction medium. The prepared compounds were analyzed by flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N.) analysis, and FTIR, UV-Vis, and mass spectroscopy, as well as conductivity measurement and magnetic susceptibility studies. Based on the combined analytical data, the prepared complexes were proposed to adopt an octahedral geometry. ... Show MoreTill now, isatin derivatives have received a lot of interest in organic and medicinal chemistry due to their significant biological and pharmacological activities. Schiff’s and Mannich bases of isatins are an effective group of heterocyclic derivatives that play a significant role in medicinal chemistry as antimicrobial agents. In light of these facts, new Schiff bases and Mannich bases of isatin were synthesized. The monomer Mannich bases; 3(a-e) have been synthesized by reacting isatin with different secondary amines, piperidine, morpholine, and pyrrolidine, dimethylamine, diphenylamine, separately, and formaldehyde, while the dimer (5) formed by using piperazine and formaldehyde which then react separately with Phenylhydrazine
... Show MoreThe current work reports a new Schiff base [N1-benzylidenebenezene-1,2-diamine(L) = C20H16N2] has been synthesized from benzaldehyde (C6H5CHO) and O- aminoaniline (O-C6H4(NH2)2. Metal mixed ligand complexes of the Schiff base were prepared from chloride salts of Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) in ethanol and 8-hydroxyquinoline(8HQ)(C9H7NO) containing sodium hydroxide. All the complexes were characterized on the basis of their; FT-IR and U.V spectra, melting point, molar conductance, and determination of the percentage of the metal in the complexes by flame (AAS). In the all complexes, (8HQ) behaves as a bidentate ligand as primary ligand through –-OH phenolic group and –N groups of pyridine group. Also, the prepared ligand (L) was bidentate i
