Single Session Facial Lipostructure by Using Autologous Fat Mixed With Platelet-Rich Fibrin Injected by Using Facial Autologous Muscular Injection Technique
...Show More Authors
Aim:

This study was designed to evaluate the role of single session autologous facial fat grafting in correcting facial asymmetries after mixing it with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and injecting them into rich vascular facial muscular plane.

Materials and Methods:

Fifteen patients (12 females and 3 males) with age ranging from 18 years to 40 years were included in this study and followed up during 6 months, all the patients were treated in the Al-Shaheed Ghazi Al-Hariri for specialized surgeries hospital (Medical City, Baghdad, Iraq).

Autologous fat with PRF injected in facial muscular plane was the standardized method in the treatment of acquired and congenital facial defects.

Results were evaluated by 2 plastic surgeons using visual analogue scale.

Interexaminer and intraexaminer calibration of the visual analogue scale were carried out by using paired t test.

Results:

This prospective study showed that the majority of patients (73.3%) needed only a single session for creating a noticeable improvement in facial volumes and contours.

Conclusions:

Mixing fat with PRF and injecting them by using facial autologous muscular injection technique offers better graft survival by utilizing the growth factors and cytokines in PRF clot together with rich vascular plexus in the muscular layer consequently.

...Show More Authors

This research includes the preparation of a new azo 2-((2-(1H-indol-2- yl)ethyl)diazinyl)-5-aminophenol, in which the diazonium salt of 2(1H– Indole–3yl)- ethylamine reacts with a compound 3-aminophenol, and complexes have been prepared with the ions of Ni (II), Pd(II), Pt(IV), and Au(III). The characteristics of compounds include F.A.A, (C. H .N and O), 1H & 13C-NMR, IR, LC-Mass , UV-Vis spectral, DSC/TGA curve, the measurements of magnetic, and molar conductance. Each complex has an amount of [1:1] [M:L] and does not contain electrolytes. Based on the obtained results, molecular structural and geometry have been octahedral geometry suggest of Pt(IV) complex and tetrahedral of Ni (II)complex, the square planar of both Pd(II) and Au(III

Clinical and Sonographic Changes of Parotid Gland in Patients with Type I and Type II Diabetes Mellitus and Its Effect on Physical Properties of Saliva
...Show More Authors

Background: Sialosis described as a specific consequence of diabetes. In diabetic sialosis, the increased volume of the glands is due to the infiltration of adipose in the parenchyma. The B-scan ultrasonography is a generally accepted tool for determining parotid gland enlargement. Oral health is, to a greater extent, dependent on quality and quantity of saliva, both of which may be altered in diabetics. This study was established to detect the enlargement of parotid gland in diabetic patient and study the changes in physical properties of saliva and its relation with the salivary gland enlargement. Subjects, Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study with highly specified criteria with ages ranged (20-65) years, male and female subject

The multi-dentate Schiff base ligand (H2L), where H2L=2,2'-(((1,3,5,6)-1-(3-((l1-oxidaneyl)-l5-methyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)hepta-1,6-di ene-3,5-diylidene)bis(azaneylylidene))bis(3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid), has been prepared from curcumin and L- Tyrosine amino acid. The synthesized Schiff base ligand (H2L) and the second ligand 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) are used to prepare the new complexes [Al(L)(phen)]Cl, K[Ag(L)(phen)] and [Pb(L)(phen)]. The synthesized compounds are characterized by magnetic susceptibility measurements, micro elemental analysis (C.H.N), mass spectrometry, molar conductance, FT-infrared, UV-visible, atomic absorption (AA), 13C-NMR, and 1H-NMR spectral studies. The characterization of the

Waterpipe tobacco smoking and gene variants of CYP1A1-Ile462Val and -MspI polymorphisms are possibly associated with the risk of lung cancer in the Iraqi population
...Show More Authors

Background: Previous studies about the correlation of genetic polymorphisms in the multigene family of cyto- chrome P450 (CYPs), the effect of tobacco smoking, and the risk of developing cancer have been well in- vestigated in different populations, but not in Iraq. Furthermore, the studies of malignance occurrence re- lationship with cigarette tobacco smoking revealed the presence of strong association, however, little is known about the risk of Waterpipe (WP) tobacco smoking. Thus, determination two important genetic polymorphisms in CYP1A1, a main member of CYPs, among Iraqi men was our first aim. This is the first study that highlights the correlation of CYP1A1 polymorphisms with the risk of lung cancer in Iraq. The second aim was to ev

3D‐printed scaffolds loaded with healing directed agents could be employed for better treatment outcome in regenerative dentistry. The aim of this study was to fabricate and characterize simple 3D‐printed poly lactic acid (PLA) scaffolds coated with nanoHydroxyapatite (nHA), Naringin (NAR), or their combination, and testing their morphological, chemical, mechanical, antibacterial, biocompatible and bioactive properties. Methodology: Two variants pore sizes, 300 and 700 μm, of 3D‐printed PLA disc scaffolds measuring (10 × 1 mm) were fabricated. These scaffolds were dip‐coated with nHA, NAR, or both (nHA/NAR). New Schiff base and their Mn(II),Co(II),Ni(II), Cu(II) and Hg(II) complexes formed by the condensation of O-phathaldehyde and ethylene diamine (2:1) to give ligand (L1) in the first step ,then the ligand (L1) with 2- aminophenol (1:2) to give ligand (L2) were prepared by classic addition through microwave method . These compounds (Ligands and complexes) have been diagnosed electronic spectra, FT-IR,1H-&13C-NMR (only ligand), magnetic susceptibility, elemental microanalysis and molar conductance measurements. Analytical values displayed that all the complexes appeared (metal: ligand) (1:1) ratio with the six chelation. All the compounds appear a high activity versus four types of bacteria such as; (Escherichia coli), (Sta
