4-Amino-N-(5-methyl-isaxazol-3-yl)-benzenesulfonamide, a new azo (LH) ligand, was synthesized by reacting the diazonium salt of Sulfamethoxazole with coupling compound 3-amino phenol. Spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, FTIR, 1H &13C-NMR, and LC-Mass) as well as micro elemental analyses (C.H.N.O) and TGA and SDC were used to identify the azo ligand. Complexes of (Zn(II), Cr(III), Cu(II) and VO(II)) were produced and characterized by atomic absorption, elemental microanalysis, infrared, LC-Mass, TGA, DSC and UV-Vis spectral techniques, as well as conductivity and magnetic quantifications. All the complexes had a 1:2 metal-ligand ratio, and non-electrolytes at all complexes and tetrahedral geometry suggested except Cr-complex, which demonstrated octahedral and VO-complex that demonstrated Square pyramidal. The results of the thermal decomposition indicated the presence of coordinated water molecule for only Cr-complex. The biological activity of some prepared compounds against two types of bacteria and four types of fungi was also studied, suggesting varying inhibition values
The work presented in this research deals with the synthesis and physico-chemical characterization of Schiff base ligand (HL) created from vanillin with p-aminoazobenzene containing (N, O) as donor atoms. The synthesis ligand (HL) was characterized by the CHN, (FT-IR), (UV-Vis), (1H,13C-NMR) and mass spectroscopy, in addition the melting point were used to charac-terize the Schiff base. A series of mixed metal ligands complexes were formed by using Schiff base ligand (HL) as primary ligand and Paracetamol (PAR) as a secondary ligand with five divalent metal ions; Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd(II) and Hg. The formed complexes were characterized by using some analytical and standard spectroscopic methods; molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibil-ity, FT-IR,

Show More4, 4s (pyridine 2, 6 diylbis (1, 3, 4 oxadiazole 5, 2 diyl)) bisphenol monomer (3) was synthesized from cyclization of Ns2, Ns6 bis (4 hydroxybenzylidene) pyridine 2, 6 dicarbohydrazide (2) in the presence of bromine in glacialacetic acid. Newly five polymers (P1P5) were synthesized from reaction bis 1, 3, 4 oxadiazole bisphenolmonomer with five different di acid chloride. The antibacterial activity of the synthesized polymers was screened against gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Polymers P4 and P5 exhibited significant antibacterial against all microorganisms, as well these polymers showed highest antifungal activity.
This search include the synthesis of some new 1,3-oxazepine derivatives have been prepared, starting from reaction of L-ascorbic acid with dry acetone in presence of dry hydrogen chloride afforded the acetal (I). Treatment of the latter with p-nitrobenzoyl chloride in dry pyridine yielded the ester (II) which was dissolved in (65%) acetic acid in absolute ethanol yielded the glycol (III). The reaction of the glycol (III) with sodium periodate in distilled water at room temperature produced the aldehyde (IV). The compound (V) [2-amino-5-mercapato-1,3,4-thiadiazole] was prepared through the reaction of thiosemicarbazide with carbon disulphide (CS2) in entity of anhydrous (Na2CO3) in (abs. ethanol ). ... Show MoreA new ligand (H4L) and its complexes with ( ZnII, CdII and HgII) were prepared. This ligand was prepared in two steps. In the first step a solution of terephthaldehyde in methanol was reacted under reflux with 1,2-phenylenediamine to give an precursor compound which reacted in the second step with 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde to give the ligand. The complexes were then synthesized by direct reaction of the corresponding metal chloride with the ligand. The ligand and complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1 HNMR, and atomic absorption, chloride content, HPLC, mole-ratio determination. in addition to conductivity measurement. The data of these measurements suggest a distorted tetrahedral geometry for ZnII, C
