يسعى هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن الأثر النفسي في الاستعمال الزمني للفعل في شعر أبي فراس ،وكذلك الكشف عن حقيقة ارتباط الزمن الفعلي بالانفعال النفسي للمتكلم ،وبينتُ هذا عن طريق بحثي عن الدلالات النفسية لصيغ الأفعال في شعر أبي فراس الذي يطغى فيه الجانب الانفعالي ويقوى، وذلك لأن السمة البارزة على شعره هي الصدق العاطفي ،وهذا ساعد على النهوض بالفكر العامة للبحث ،ذلك إن اللغة هي انعكاس لكوامن النفس البشرية . والتزم البحث بالمنهج الوصفي التحليلي للغة الشعرية ،وما في النص من ملابسات ساعدت على تحديد الدلالة بشكلٍ دقيق .
