The association between the genes LPL Ser447Ter, CMA1-1903A > G, FTO rs9939609 and obesity in the Rostov region from Russia
...Show More Authors

Introduction: Due to the high prevalence of diseases associated with obesity. There are several factors, including the genetic factors, it is known that the genes Fat mass and obesity-associated FTO rs9939609, the lipoprotein lipase (LPL) Ser447Ter, and the chymase 1 (CMA1) -1903A > G are associated with lipoprotein metabolism. The aim of the present investigation was to study the association of the FTO, LPL, and CMA1 genes with obesity in the children and adolescents population of the Rostov region, Russia. Methods: In a case-control study involving 500 children and adolescents aged from 3 to 17 years, the association between the genetic polymorphisms of the FTO rs9939609, LPL Ser447Ter (rs328) and CMA1 -1903A > G (rs1800875) with the obesity was studied. The obese patients' group consisted of 300 obese children and adolescents, while the control group consisted of 200 non-obese children and adolescents. The genotyping polymorphisms for these genes was performed using PCR amplified fragments. Genetic polymorphisms in DNA samples were typed using commercial test systems NPF Liteh (Russia) with electrophoretic detection. Results: Significant differences (P < 0.05) were found in the frequency distribution of the AA genotype (P = 0.008; OR: 0.60; 95% CI: 0.41–0.87) and the A allele (P = 0.025; OR: 1.35; 95% CI: 1.05–1.75) of the FTO gene polymorphism rs9939609, as well as the distribution of the AA genotype (P = 0.021; OR: 1.76; 95% CI: 1.09–2.83) of the CMA1 gene polymorphism -1903A > G in the obese and control groups. A combination of FTO rs9939609, CMA1 -1903A > G of genotypes increased risks has been identified and LPL Ser447Ter of genotypes which decreased risks according to the nature of the association between the dominant and recessive models of obesity in children and adolescents. Conclusions: An interrelation was revealed between the gene FTO rs9939609 polymorphism and the obesity, while the effect of the CMA1 -1903A > G gene on obesity is unknown, although there was a significant effect on the AA genotype of obesity among the Rostov on-don population.

EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF A DOUBLE PASS SOLAR AIR HEATER PROVIDED WITH POROUS ABSORBER PLATE FOR DRYING APPLICATIONS
...Show More Authors

This investigation integrates experimental and numerical approaches to study a novel solar air heater aimed at achieving an efficient design for a solar collector suitable for drying applications under the meteorological conditions of Iraq. The importance of this investigation stems from the lack of optimal exploitation of solar energy reaching the solar collector, primarily attributable to elevated thermal losses despite numerous designs employed in such solar systems. Consequently, enhancing the thermal performance of solar collectors, particularly those employed in crop drying applications, stands as a crucial focal point for researchers within this domain. Two identical double-pass solar air heaters were designed and constructed for

Production of Hydrogen and Nanocarbon by Catalytic Decomposition of Electrocracking Gas over an Industrial Catalyst under Integrated Reactor Conditions
...Show More Authors

Hydrogen and nanocarbon were produced by the catalytic decomposition of electrocracking gas obtained by the pyrolysis of liquid organic waste via electric arc discharge. The GIAP-16 (NiO-Al2O3) industrial catalyst was used to reduce the maximum decomposition temperature to 700 °C. In a fixed-bed reactor, under atmospheric pressure, reasonable amounts of high-purity hydrogen were produced, accompanied by deposits of nanocarbon by-product. The NiO-Al2O3 catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity. X-ray powder diffraction analysis of the NiO-Al2O3 composite revealed the presence of cubic NiO and rhombohedral Al2O3, which were chemically stable. However, above 500 °C, NiAl2O4 began to appear. The specific surface area of the catalyst was de

Integrated biomass algae @ cross-linked pyromellitic dianhydride chitosan biocomposite for methyl violet 2B adsorption: modelling and experiment design optimization
...Show More Authors

A new adsorbent was developed by integrating algae biomass (AG) into a chitosan (CN) matrix, followed by structural enhancement via crosslinking with pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) through a hydrothermal synthesis approach. This process resulted in the formation of a robust AG@CN-PMDA composite with improved physicochemical characteristics suitable for advanced adsorption applications. The AG@CN-PMDA composite was evaluated for its efficiency in removal of the cationic dye methyl violet 2B (MV 2B) from aqueous solution. The adsorption process was refined through the Box-Behnken design (RSM-BBD), evaluating three essential parameters: adsorbent dosage (A: 0.02–0.1 g/100 mL), pH (B: 4–10), and time (C: 5–20 min). The ideal conditions f

In this paper we estimate the coefficients and scale parameter in linear regression model depending on the residuals are of type 1 of extreme  value distribution for the largest values . This can be regard as an improvement for the studies with the smallest values . We study two estimation methods ( OLS  & MLE ) where we resort to Newton – Raphson (NR) and Fisher Scoring methods to get MLE estimate because the difficulty of using the usual approach with MLE . The relative efficiency criterion is considered beside to the statistical inference procedures for the extreme value regression model of type 1 for largest values . Confidence interval , hypothesis testing for both scale parameter and regression coefficients
