A comparative immunohistochemical expression of cytokeratin 19 in odontogenic keratocyst, dentigerous, and radicular cysts
...Show More Authors

Background: Odontogenic cysts are characterized by their sluggish growth and ability to enlarge, primarily affecting the oral and maxillofacial tissues. Timely diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent potentially serious consequences. The present study aimed to evaluate and compare the immunohistochemical expression of cytokeratin 19 in the epithelium of odontogenic keratocyst, dentigerous, and radicular cysts.

Methods: This study analyzed forty-five formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue blocks containing odontogenic cysts. The sample consisted of fifteen odontogenic keratocysts, fifteen dentigerous cysts, and fifteen radicular cysts. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed to assess the expression of the cytokeratin 19 epithelial marker in these samples. Statistical analyses were conducted using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 26, employing the Chi-square test for comparative analysis of cytokeratin 19 expression among the odontogenic keratocyst, dentigerous cyst, and radicular cyst.

Results: This study showed that 80% of basal layer tissue samples in the odontogenic keratocyst group had negative cytokeratin 19 biomarker scores. In contrast, 60% of dentigerous cyst tissue blocks and 53.3% of radicular cyst tissue blocks were +1. This difference was statistically significant (P = 0.034). In comparison, between groups, there was no significant difference (P = 0.103) in CK19 expression in the surface and spinous layers.

Conclusion: The level of epithelial differentiation is correlated with cytokeratin 19 expression. The cysts with well-differentiated epithelium (radicular cyst and dentigerous cyst) express cytokeratin 19, whereas those with less well-differentiated epithelium (odontogenic keratocyst) exhibit low positives. Thus, it serves as a diagnostic tool for distinguishing these three lesions.

The cultural effect on translating titles of an international Awareness Campaigns with reference from English to Arabic
...Show More Authors

The study explains how translation participates in shaping the responses of different communities to global awareness campaigns, and the extent to which language and translated terminology from English to Arabic influence the audience’s understanding and interaction with the awareness messages delivered by these campaigns. The research aims to explore the problems in translating these campaign titles, which may lead to vague meaning, as the process is considered a major challenge due to the need to navigate linguistic nuances, cultural differences, and contextual variations. In this study, some awareness phrases were randomly chosen from many types of organizations’ campaigns, like the WHO, UN, mental health, and Empowerment, a

Modification of Electro-Fenton Process with Granular Activated Carbon for Phenol Degradation – Optimization by Response Surface Methodology
...Show More Authors

As a result of rapid industrialization and population development, toxic chemicals have been introduced into water systems in recent decades. Because of its excellent efficiency and simple design, the three-dimensional (3D) electro-Fenton method has been used for the treatment of wastewater. The goal of the current study is to explore the efficiency of phenol removal by the 3D electro-Fenton process, which is one of the advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). In the present work, the effect of the addition of granular activated carbon (GAC) particles to the electro-Fenton system as the third electrode would be investigated in the presence of graphite as the anode and nickel foam as the cathode, which is the source of electro-generated hydrogen

Comparison between the mesiodistal crown dimensions of second primary molar with stainless steel crowns from different companies
...Show More Authors

Background: Due to the variations in tooth anatomy and size among different populations, this study aimed to compare the mesiodistal width of primary second molars in Iraqi children with the mesiodistal width of stainless-steel crowns from different companies. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 220 intact maxillary and mandibular primary second molars selected from boys and girls’ Iraqi children aged 8-9 years collected from different primary schools in Baghdad city. The mesiodistal dimensions of the selected teeth and the available maxillary and mandibular stainless-steel crowns from three different companies were measured by using a 3-D scanner, and then the whole measurements were calculated usin

The Potential of Gundelia Seeds Waste as an Emerging Sustainable Adsorbent for Methylene Blue-Polluted Water Treatment
...Show More Authors

Gundelia, a genus of flowering plants native to the Mediterranean region, particularly in Iraq, holds promise as a sustainable adsorbent for the treatment of dye-polluted water. This study explores the potential of Gundelia seeds (GS) waste as a biobased adsorbent for removing methylene blue dye from synthesized wastewater. Utilizing various analytical techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), we assessed GS as an active adsorbent with performance comparable to fabricated and expensive composites. Key parameters such as pH (3-11), pH at the point of zero charge, temperature (298-328 K), dose (0.02-0.1 g), dye concentration (10-50 ppm), and

Abstract<p>Real Time Extended (RTX) technology works to take advantage of real-time data comes from the global network of tracking stations together with inventor locating and compression algorithms to calculate and relaying the orbit of satellite, satellite atomic clock, and any other systems corrections to the receivers, which lead to real-time correction with high accuracy. These corrections will be transferred to the receiver antenna by satellite (where coverage is available) and by IP (Internet Protocol) for the rest of world to provide the accurate location on the screen of smartphone or tablet by using specific software.
