Four mixed ligand complexes were prepared from 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen), 5-chlorosalicylic acid (CSA), and anthranilic acid (Anthra) dissolved in aqueous ethanol at a ratio of (1:1:1:1) M: Phen:CSA: Anthra, M(II)= Cu, Zn, Cd, and Hg. The prepared compounds were analyzed by flame atomic absorption, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and spectroscopic methods, as well as conductivity measurements and magnetic properties. After analyzing the prepared compounds using the acquired data, the complexes formed by mixing ligands were concluded to adopt an octahedral geometry. That study has been conducted to test the inhibitory effectiveness of the complexes (1,10-Phenanthroline (Phen), 5-Chlorosalicylic acid (CSA), Na[Cu(Phen)(CSA)(Anthra), Na[Zn(Phen)(CSA)(Anthra)], Na[Cd(Phen)(CSA)(Anthra)] and Na [Hg(Phen)(CSA)(Anthra)] at a concentration 10-3 mg /mL against some types of bacteria that cause urinary tract infections ( S. aureus, S. epidermidis, E.coli, K.pneumoniae and C. albicans) and test its sensitivity by Vitek -2 system to the most common antibiotics used in hospitals at the present time. The results showed that all complexes showed high inhibitory activity. All of these bacterial species and Candida albicans were resistant to antibiotics (meropenem, penicillin, gentamicin, imipenem, cefixime, ceftriaxone, amoxicillin, azithromycin, tobramycin, levofloxacin, and vancomycin). By making the prepared compounds resistant to antibiotics, they can be used as pharmaceutical compounds.
We described herein the synthesized and characterized of new bent and liner core compounds containing thiazolidin-4-one ring[XI-XIII] and [XIV-XVI] respectively. These compounds synthesized by sequence reactions starting from reaction resorcinol or hydroquinone with chloracetyl chloride to yield compounds [I] and [II] ,then the later compounds reactant with 4-hydroxybenzylaldehyde to product dialdehyde compounds [III] and [IV] .The Schiff bases compounds[V-VII] and [VIII-X] synthesized from reaction the compound [III] or [IV] with different aromatic amines, while the bent and liner core mesogens containing thiazolidin-4-one ring [XI-XIII] and [XIV-XVI] synthesized from reaction Schiff bases compounds[V-VII] or [VIII-X] with thioglycolic aci

Methods: Baclofen was initially reacted with aromatic aldehydes to create Schiff base derivatives (Ia–Ib), which were then closed in the next step using anhydrous acids to form oxazepine derivatives (IIa–IId). Results: The title compounds were synthesized successfully and identified using FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Additionally, compound (IIc)’s (3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-[2-(4nitro-phenyl)-4,7-dioxo-4,7-dihydro-[1,3] oxazepin-3-yl]butyric acid) anticancer activity was assessed using MTT assay against FTC-133 (thyroid cancer) compared with WRL-68 (normal cell line). In this study, we developed a straightforward and efficient reusable adsorbent by amalgamating chitosan and vermiculite (forming the CSVT composite), and comprehensively investigated its selective adsorption mechanism. Different techniques, such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), zeta potential analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Brunauer, Emmett, Teller (BET) analysis were employed for this purpose. The prepared CSVT composite exhibited a larger surface area and higher mesoporosity increasing from 1.9 to 17.24 m2/g compared to pristine chitosan. The adsorption capabilities of the

Compound (2), is the key intermediate for the synthesis of several series of new compounds such as substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives (3-6) were synthesized from the condensation of different substituted benzoic acids with compound (2) using POCl3 as condensing agent. Treatment of compound (2) with formic acid gave the N-formyl hydrazide (7), which upon refluxing with phosphorous pentoxide in benzene yielded the corresponding 5-(9-fluorenone-2-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (8). Reaction of hydrazide (2) with phenyl isocyanate to give N-phenyl semicarbazide derivative (9), then thi

All monomers, polymers and thioester compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR, 1 H-NMR and mass spectroscopy. The phase transition and mesomorphic properties were investigated by polarized optical microscope (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The monomer with terminal phenyl substituent display dimorphism nematic and smectic A (SmA) mesophases. The corresponding polymers derived from acrylic and phenyl acrylic acid monomers show nematic mesophase. The only thioester cyclic compound derived from terephtaloyl chloride show nemati
