Balloon Valvoplasty of Severe Aortic Valve Stenosis Following Badly Planed Midline Thoracotomy
...Show More Authors

Aortic valve replacement (AVR) is the gold standard method for management of severe aortic stenosis (AS), with transcatheter balloon valvoplasty (BAV) increasingly used as palliative option for calcified valve in experienced hand. In the AVR era, BAV was not considered a long-term definitive treatment for severe calcific AS due to a high restenosis rate and short durability of gradient improvement. However, it continues to have an important role as a bridge-to-decision or bridge-to-intervention in cases where definitive therapy must be delayed due to clinical instability, imaging uncertainty or failed trial of surgical valve replacement. We report a case of heavily calcified AS in an adolescent female, in which the calcification involves the ascending aorta extending to the aortic arch with failure of surgical management trail and she finally managed by transcatheter balloon valvoplasty

Estimating Parametersof Gumbel Distribution For Maximum Values By using Simulation
...Show More Authors

In this research estimated the parameters of Gumbel distribution Type 1 for Maximum values through the use of two estimation methods:- Moments (MoM) and Modification Moments(MM) Method. the Simulation used for comparison between each of the estimation methods to reach the best method to estimate the parameters where the simulation was to generate random data follow Gumbel distributiondepending on three models of the real values of the parameters for different sample sizes with samples of replicate (R=500).The results of the assessment were put in tables prepared for the purpose of comparison, which made depending on the mean squares error (MSE).

Morlet wavelet–based olfactory-evoked EEG features for random forest classification of normal, aMCI, and Alzheimer’s disease
...Show More Authors

Olfactory impairment and abnormal frontal EEG oscillations are recognized as early markers of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Using a publicly available olfactory EEG dataset of 35 subjects spanning normal cognition, amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI), and AD, each with MMSE scores and demographics, stimulus-locked epochs from four electrodes (Fp1, Fz, Cz, Pz) were processed with wavelet-based time–frequency analysis. Band-limited power ratios (delta, theta, alpha, beta) were computed as log-transformed post-odor/baseline values and aggregated to subject-level features. Statistical analyses revealed graded attenuation of odor-evoked frontal (Fp1) band-power ratios across groups, with significant differences in several band–od

Classification of Iraqi Children According to Their Nutritional Status Using Fuzzy Logic
...Show More Authors

In this paper, we build a fuzzy classification system for classifying the nutritional status of children under 5 years old in Iraq using the Mamdani method based on input variables such as weight and height to determine the nutritional status of the child. Also, Classifying the nutritional status faces a difficult challenge in the medical field due to uncertainty and ambiguity in the variables and attributes that determine the categories of nutritional status for children, which are relied upon in medical diagnosis to determine the types of malnutrition problems and identify the categories or groups suffering from malnutrition to determine the risks faced by each group or category of children. Malnutrition in children is one of the most

An Artificial Intelligence Algorithm to Optimize the Classification of the Hepatitis Type
...Show More Authors

Hepatitis is one of the diseases that has become more developed in recent years in terms of the high number of infections. Hepatitis causes inflammation that destroys liver cells, and it occurs as a result of viruses, bacteria, blood transfusions, and others. There are five types of hepatitis viruses, which are (A, B, C, D, E) according to their severity. The disease varies by type. Accurate and early diagnosis is the best way to prevent disease, as it allows infected people to take preventive steps so that they do not transmit the difference to other people, and diagnosis using artificial intelligence gives an accurate and rapid diagnostic result. Where the analytical method of the data relied on the radial basis network to diagnose the

Multilayer Perceptron for analyzing satellite data
...Show More Authors

Different ANN architectures of MLP have been trained by BP and used to analyze Landsat TM images. Two different approaches have been applied for training: an ordinary approach (for one hidden layer M-H1-L & two hidden layers M-H1-H2-L) and one-against-all strategy (for one hidden layer (M-H1-1)xL, & two hidden layers (M-H1-H2-1)xL). Classification accuracy up to 90% has been achieved using one-against-all strategy with two hidden layers architecture. The performance of one-against-all approach is slightly better than the ordinary approach

New Versions of Liu-type Estimator in Weighted and non-weighted Mixed Regression Model
...Show More Authors

This paper considers and proposes new estimators that depend on the sample and on prior information in the case that they either are equally or are not equally important in the model. The prior information is described as linear stochastic restrictions. We study the properties and the performances of these estimators compared to other common estimators using the mean squared error as a criterion for the goodness of fit. A numerical example and a simulation study are proposed to explain the performance of the estimators.

Rate of Schneiderian First Rank Symptoms among Newly Diagnosed Schizophrenic Patients
...Show More Authors

Background: Schneiderian first rank symptoms are
considered highly valuable in the diagnosis of
schneideria.
They are more evident in the acute phase of the
disorder and fading gradually with time. Many studies
have shown that the rate of these symptoms are
variable in different countries and are colored by
cultural beliefs and values.
Objectives: To find out the rate of Schneiderian first
rank symptoms among newly diagnosed schizophrenic
patients, to assess which symptom(s) might
predominate in those patients, and to find out if there
is/are any correlation(s) between the occurrence of
these symptoms and the sex of the patients.
Methods: Out of twenty-four patients with no past
psychiatric hi

Mineral Inversion Approach to Improve Ahdeb Oil Field's Mineral Classification
...Show More Authors

Knowledge of the mineralogical composition of a petroleum reservoir's formation is crucial for the petrophysical evaluation of the reservoir. The Mishrif formation, which is prevalent in the Middle East, is renowned for its mineralogical complexity. Multi-mineral inversion, which combines multiple logs and inversions for multiple minerals at once, can make it easier to figure out what minerals are in the Mishrif Formation. This method could help identify minerals better and give more information about the minerals that make up the formation. In this study, an error model is used to find a link between the measurements of the tools and the petrophysical parameters. An error minimization procedure is subsequently applied to determine

Measurement of Appreciation of Clothes of University’s Students
...Show More Authors

Clothes are considered a means of aesthetic and artistic expression that help to hide the flaws of the body and highlight its merits , it has importance in people's lives as it reflects the individual's idea of himself and his personality. Whereas  the appreciation  in clothing  is a reflection of a person's sense of artistic components and the application of this sense to the clothes of his choice. Regarding the differences in clothing tastes by the university students according to the following variables (gender, specialization, stage of study,  age, monthly income), the current research is considered quantitative descriptive research that is concerned with studying a phenomenon that exists in reality, measuring it
