...Show More Authors

The purpose of my thesis is to synthesis two new bidentate ligands ‎which were used to prepare series of metal complexes by reacting the ‎ligands with (M+2 = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Cd and Hg) ‎ ‎ Succinyl chloride was used as starting material to synthesis two ‎bidentate ligands (L1) and (L2) by reaction it with 4-chloroaniline ‎‎(L1) and ‎ ‎ (4-aminoacetophenone) (L2) in dichloromethane as a solvent, that ‎are:‎ ‎(L1) = N1,N4-bis (4-chloro phenyl ) succinamide ‎(L2) =N1,N4-bis(4-acetylphenyl)succinamide ‎ The new ligands were characterize by using spectroscopic study ‎‎(Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electronic spectra ( ‎UV-Vis) ,nuclear magnetic resonance(1H,13C-NMR), Mass spectra ‎‎,Elemental microanalysis (C.H.N.S) and thermal analysis (TGA) , ‎which showed a match with the molecular formulas of these ligands.‎ ‎ A series of metal complexes (containing six complexes for each ‎ligand) were synthesized from adding some metal ions ‎ (M+2 = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Cd and Hg) to the ligand with molecular ‎formulas:‎ ‎]Cl2‎‏2(‏H2O‏)‏M(L1)2‎‏]‏Cl2 , ‎‏[2(‏H2O‏)‏M(L2)2‎‏]‏ ‎ All complexes that synthesized in this investigation were ‎characterized by solubility, melting point, Fourier-transform infrared ‎spectroscopy, electronic spectra, molar conductivity, magnetic ‎susceptibility measurements, element microanalysis and flame ‎atomic absorption, According to the ola inedresults an octahedral ‎geometric structure of the prepared complexes was proposed.‎ ‎ The biological activity of the prepared compounds against three ‎types of bacteria, Escherichia coli (G-), and Pseudomonas (G-) ‎Staphylococcus aureus (G+) were examined, the prepared ‎compounds showed good activity and different from the selected ‎bacteria.‎

Undergraduate Research Impact on Students' Retention and Academic Development Based on Their Study Field and the Mentoring Approach
...Show More Authors

The impact of undergraduate research experiences on students' academic development and retention in STEM fields is significant. Students' success in STEM fields is based on developing strong research and critical thinking skills that make it essential for students to engage in research activities throughout their academic programs. This work evaluates the effectiveness of undergraduate research experiences with respect to its influence on student retention and academic development. The cases presented are based on years of experience implementing undergraduate research programs in various STEM fields at Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) funded by HSI STEM Grants. The study seeks to establish a correlation between students' reten

Election study included four sites for the waters in area of Youssifiyah south of Baghdad (river water, tank water, liquefactions water, and water filtrate and seethed and purifier by alum and chloride), the samples were collected during the month of June in 2007. Temperature, electrical conductivity and acidity are measured. Also , the concentration of chloride , sulphate , carbonate , nitrate , sodium , calcium , magnesium , hard total and total dissolved substances are determined , as well as heavy metals assess environmental risk (such as Cu, Pb, Zn, Fe). It was also a study of bacterial totals included both total Bacteria (TB) and Total Coliform Bacteria (TC) and Fecal Coliform (FC) and Fecal Streptococci (FS). The stu

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION, AND THERMAL STUDYING OF Cr(III), Co(II), Fe(III) Mo(VI), Ru (III) and Rh(III) COMPLEXES WITH AZO DYE AND EVALUATION AS ANTIOXIDANT AND ANTICANCER
...Show More Authors

Complexes of the Cr(III), Fe(III), Rh(III), Ru (III), Mo hexagonal valence and Co(II) were prepared using the azo dye 1,1'-(1,3-phenylene bis(diazene-2,1-diyl))bis(2,4,6-trihydroxy-3,1-phenylene))bis(ethan-1-one), which was prepared newly from diazonium salt with 2,4,6-trihydroxyacetophenone, after isolation. The compounds were characterized using proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance of the ligand and fine elemental analysis, infrared, ultraviolet-visible, mass measurement, thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal scanning, metal percentage determination, chlorine content determination, magnetic susceptibility, and molar conductivity. The results showed that the tetra coordinated anionic bond, when linked to metal ions via t

In vitro periodontal ligament cell expansion by co-culture method and formation of multi-layered periodontal ligament-derived cell sheets
...Show More Authors

Objective: Per-implantitis is one of the implant treatment complications. Dentists have failed to restore damaged periodontium by using conventional therapies. Tissue engineering (stem cells, scaffold and growth factors) aims to reconstruct natural tissues. The paper aimed to isolate both periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) and use them in a co-culture method to create three-layered cell sheets for reconstructing natural periodontal ligament (PDL) tissue. Materials and methods: BMMSCs were isolated from rabbit tibia and femur, and PDLSC culture was established from the lower right incisor. The cells were co-cultured to induce BMMSC differentiation into PDL cells. Cell morphology, stem cel

New Predictive Block Matching Searching Algorithms and Hybrid Predictive Search System
...Show More Authors

In this paper, two new simple, fast and efficient block matching algorithms are introduced, both methods begins blocks matching process from the image center block and moves across the blocks toward image boundaries. With each block, its motion vector is initialized using linear prediction that depending on the motion vectors of its neighbor blocks that are already scanned and their motion vectors are assessed. Also, a hybrid mechanism is introduced, it depends on mixing the proposed two predictive mechanisms with Exhaustive Search (ES) mechanism in order to gain matching accuracy near or similar to ES but with Search Time ST less than 80% of the ES. Also, it offers more control capability to reduce the search errors. The experimental tests

Impact of tool geometry on void evolution, stress non-uniformity, and thermomechanical interaction in friction stir welding of T-joints using CEL simulation and experimental validation
...Show More Authors

Although Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is broadly invested in joining aluminum alloys, welding T-joint configurations display revealing challenges due to the interface’s intricate material flow and stress development. Defect formation, including voids and lack of fusion, as well as sudden response forces and residual stresses, can substantially undermine joint performance. This study presents an innovative three-dimensional finite element model to predict the coupled thermomechanical conditions experienced during the friction stir welding (FSW) of AA 6061-T6 lap T-joint design. The study identifies the geometrical parameters of the FSW tool, including shoulder and pin diameters, as well as pin form (cylindrical and tapered), as critical var

The research aims to identify the effect of the training program that is based on integrating futuristic thinking skills with classroom interaction patterns on mathematics teachers in order to provide their students with creative solution skills. The research sample consisted of 31teachers (15 teachers for the experimental group and 16 for the control groups). The researcher developed a measure for the academic self-efficacy consisting of (39) items. Its validity, reliability, coefficient of difficulty and discriminatory power were estimated. To analyze the findings, the researcher adopted the Mann-Whitney (U) test and the effect size, and the findings were as follows: There is a statistically significant difference at the significance leve
