The question of motherhood seems to haunt the works of Kate Chopin, a
nineteenth century American writer. Though a mother-woman herself, Chopin
gives a paradoxical portrait of motherhood in her works. She implies that
motherhood might be a liberating experience for some women as it is constricting
for others. This paper tackles the paradoxical nature of motherhood in Chopin's
novel, The Awakening and other four short stories. In The Awakening, A Pair of
Silk Stockings and Desiree's Baby, motherhood is depicted as a tool of selfdestruction,
while in Athénaise and Regret, it is a source of life-giving.

The waste sorting and recycling plant in the district of al- Mahmudiya (Yusufiya) is the only laboratory in Baghdad governorate. It is the only one in Iraq that collects and recycles waste. Osteoporosis is a prevalent systemic metabolic disorder characterized by a reduction in bone mass and bone density, damage in microstructure of bone tissue, and raised bone fragility causing of fracture susceptibility. This study included 189 Iraqi adults aged 45–75 years, evaluating serum levels TGF-β3 and WNT5A across three groups: healthy individuals (n = 31) as control, those with primary osteoporosis/osteopenia (n = 61), and with comorbidity-related osteoporosis (linked to β-thalassemia, parathyroid disorders or diabetes; n = 97). Among those, β-thalassemia-associated osteoporosis patients showed the most distinct decrease in bone mineral density (0.57 ± 0.078 g/cm², p < 0.0001) along with marked increases in WNT5A (0.89 ± 0.68

In this investigation, the mechanical properties and microstructure of Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) of Al.6061 alloy reinforced by ceramic materials SiC and Al₂O₃ with different additive percentages 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 wt.% for the particle size of 53 µ_m are studied.
