Heavy metal free thermal stabilizing-flame retarding modifier for plasticized poly(vinyl chloride)
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Our research aimed to find a new material that can be an efficient heavy metal free flame retardant for plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) comparable to the conventional flame retardants. One of these extraordinary materials is Oxydtron using as an admixture for concrete. Oxydtron showed unexpected efficiency as a flame retardant agent and an excellent heat stabilizer as well. Limiting oxygen index (LOI), static heat stability, Congo-red, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were carried out. The thermal tests proved that Oxydtron is suitable to improve plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) performance at high temperatures applications in terms of flame retarding and thermal stability
... Study of effect acidic solution (HCl) and (EP/Al2O3 & EP/ TiO2) hybrid on thermal conductivity of epoxy resin.
...Show More Authors

This research studies the effect of adding micro, nano and hybrid by ratio (1:1) of (Al2O3,TiO2) to epoxy resin on thermal conductivity before and after immersion in HCl acid for (14 day) with normality (0.3 N) at weight fraction (0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08) and thickness (6mm). The results of thermal conductivity reveled that epoxy reinforced by (Al2O3) and mixture (TiO2+Al2O3) increases with increasing the weight fraction, but the thermal conductivity (k) a values for micro and Nano (TiO2) decrease with increasing the weight fraction of reinforced, while the immersion in acidic solution (HCl) that the (k) values after immersion more than the value in before immersion.

SEPARATION OF PROTEIN AND LACTOSE FROM WHEY DISPOSED FROM ABO-GHRAAB DAIRY FACTORY BY USING MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY: SEPARATION OF PROTEIN AND LACTOSE FROM WHEY DISPOSED FROM ABO-GHRAAB DAIRY FACTORY BY USING MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY
...Show More Authors

In this research, the performance of a two kind of membrane was examined to recovering the nutrients (protein and lactose) from the whey produced by the soft cheese industry in the General Company for Food Products inAbo-ghraab.Wheyare treated in two stages, the first including press whey into micron filter made of poly vinylidene difluoride (PVDF) standard plate type 800 kilo dalton, The membrane separates the whey to permeate which represent is the main nutrients and to remove the fat and microorganisms. The second stage is to isolate the protein by using ultra filter made of polyethylsulphone(PES)type plate with a measurement of 10,60 kilo dalton and the recovery of lactose in the form of permeate.
The results showed that the percen

Dissolution of inorganic phosphorous ion from human enamel treated with different concentration of Siwak aqueous extract in comparison with sodium fluoride
...Show More Authors

Background: The use of Miswak, chewing sticks (salvadorapersica) can be traced back to Babylonians some 7000 years ago. It is commonly used throughout the world especially for the purpose of oral hygiene. Muslims are using as the religious view. Current study aimed to test the ability of aqueous siwak extract to increase the resistance of enamel surface against acid dissolution compared to sodium fluoride. Materials and Method: Twenty maxillary first premolars were treated with the selected solutions included two aqueous siwak extract concentration(5%,10%) and sodium fluoride(0.05%)as control positive for 2 minutes once daily for 20days interval, de ionized water was used as control negative. The concentration of the dissolved phosphorus i

The Adsorption of Some Trace Heavy Metals from Aqueous Solution Using Non Living Biomass of Sub Merged Aquatic Plant Ceratophyllum demersum
...Show More Authors

Heavy metals contamination in aquatic ecosystems is considered one of the most important threats of aquatic life. Submerge aquatic plants Ceratophyllum demersum in its non living form used for the removal of trace elements. This article studied the ability of the fine powder of C.demersum for the removal of some heavy metals (HM) like copper, cadmium, lead and chrome from aqueous solution with in variable experimental factors. The study occupy two treatments the first included different hydrogen ions pH within a range of 4, 5,6and 8 with a constant HM concentration (1000 ppm). While the second treatment represented by using variable HM concentrations within a range of (250,500,750and 1000 ppm) with a constant pH=7.In both treatments the a

Lead bioremoval by Bacillus spp. Isolated from industrial wastewater
...Show More Authors

Four samples were collected from the wastewater of State Battery Manufacturing Company (SBMC); Babylon 2 factory in AL-Waziriya district, as triplicates. Physical and chemical measurements were carried out such as temperature, pH, Lead concentrations and their ranges were: (19.5-34.5) °C, (6.1-6.4) and (4.5-6.5) mg/L, respectively. Six dominant Bacillus spp. isolates were isolated from these samples; namely, Bacillus subtilis N1, Bacillus subtilis N2, Bacillus subtilis N3, Bacillus cereus N4, Bacillus cereus N5 , Bacillus cereus N6. These isolates were capable of removing Lead from aqueous solutions in a capacity reached 27.6 ± 1.4, 10.1 ± 1.7, 74.5 ± 0.7, 8.93 ± 2.8, 8.1 ± 3.5, 1.6± 0.7 mg/L, respectively. Whereas cell walls,

Microorganisms have an active role in biotechnology for example yeasts, especially in some genus like Saccharomyces, Pichia, and CandidaC.tropicalis one of the most important species of Candida and despite it is one of the causative agents of candidiasis but it has a major role in the production of many chemical compounds. C.tropicalis in the previous study was isolated from sheep dung and morphologically and molecularly classified the result of sequencing was elucidate 100% similarity between the studied isolate and other isolates inserted in DNA Data Bank of Japan DDBJ, physiologically this isolate tolerated 6% ethanol concentration in broth media with the ability to the pro

Water Recovery from Brine Solution by Forward Osmosis Process
...Show More Authors

The present work aims to study the possibility of utilization a forward osmosis desalination process as an alternative method to extract water from brine solution rejected from reverse osmosis process.
Experiments conducted in a laboratory–scale forward osmosis (FO) unit in cross flow flat sheet membrane cell yielded water flux ranging from (0.0315 to 0.56 L/m2 .min) when using CTA membrane, and ranging from (0.419 to 2.785 L/m2 .min) for PA membrane under 0.4 bar. Two possible membrane orientations were tested. Sodium chloride with high concentrations was used as draw solution solute. The effect of membrane orientation on internal concentration polarization (ICP) was studied. Two regimes of ICP; dilutive and concentrative were desc
