Synthesis and characterization of benzil crown cyclic Schiff base ligand and its metal complexes
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACT. The reaction between benzil and hexamethylenediamine formed a new ligand [L], [(1Z,3Z)-2,3-diphenyl-5,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-1,4-diazecine], of the type [N2], was synthesized by the condensation reaction through Schiff base reaction between benzil and hexamethylenediamine. The new Schiff base ligand reacts with Mnп, Niп and Coп metal ions to give the complexes with the general formula: [M(L)Cl2]. The elemental investigations have been used to analyze the ligand and its complexes by CHN, FT-IR, UV-Vis, TLC, mass spectrum, melting point with the study of biological activity to the formed compounds. From the data obtained, the proposed molecular structure adopts square planar structure about the metal ions. The study reveals the formation of a new ligand type [N2] and it's metal ion complexes with square planar structures metal:ligand ratio of 1:1, which can be employed in a variety of fields such as medicine and industry.     KEY WORDS: Benzil, Hexamethylenediamine, Metal complexes, Square planar structure   Bull. Study of Production and Characterization of Laccase Enzyme from Klebsiellapneumoniae K7 Isolate
...Show More Authors

Sixty four local isolated of Klebsiella spp. have been isolated from environment samples (soil and water). These isolates were identified and diagnosis according to phenotype and biochemical tests. These isolates were subjected to primary and secondary screening, to select the isolate with the highest laccase activity. Fifteen isolates chosen from primary screening for screening their enzyme activity in secondary screening. It has been found the Klebsiella(K7) has the highest productivity of the enzyme (12 Unit/ml).Klebsiella(K7) isolate was diagnosis by Vitak 2 system, it was identified asK. pneumonia. The laccase purified was characterization, the experiments showed that: The molecular weight of laccase was 120KD and the optimum pH for th

Preparation and Characterization of MoO3/TiO2 Catalysts for Hydroisomerization of n-Hexane
...Show More Authors

This research investigated the isomerization of n-hexane using molybdenum trioxide supported on titanium dioxide as a catalyst. The study explored the effect of liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV) and reaction temperature on n-hexane isomerization. The synthesized catalyst contained 20.46 wt.% molybdenum trioxide, with LHSV values ranging from 0.5 to 2 hr-1 and temperatures between 200oC and 275oC. The research aimed to identify the best reaction conditions, specifically temperature and LHSV, for maximizing the conversion of n-hexane to isomers. The results indicated that the highest conversion, 53.21%, occurred at an LHSV of 0.5 hr⁻¹ and a temperature of 275°C. The reaction followed first-order kinetics with an activation energ

Synthesis and characterization of (E)-4-(((4-(5-mercapto-1, 3, 4-oxadiazol-2-yl) phenyl) amino) methyl)-2-methoxyphenol as a novel corrosion inhibitor for mild-steel in acidic medium
...Show More Authors

Metal corrosion is a destructive process for many industrial operations, including oil well acidizing and acid pickling. Therefore, numerous efforts made by many researchers to control the steel corrosion. In the present work, A (E)-4-(((4-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) phenyl) amino) methyl)-2-methoxyphenol (MOPM) has been synthesized and characterized as a new corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid. FTIR and 1 HNMR were used in the diagnosis of MOPM, while electrochemical polarization technique was employed to test the performance of inhibitor at various temperatures and inhibitor concentrations. Electrochemical studies showed that MOPM acts as a mixed-type inhibitor with a maximum inhibition efficiency of

Topology-Based Modularity and Modularity Density for Detecting Protein Complexes: A Comparative Study
...Show More Authors

Binary relations or interactions among bio-entities, such as proteins, set up the essential part of any living biological system. Protein-protein interactions are usually structured in a graph data structure called "protein-protein interaction networks" (PPINs). Analysis of PPINs into complexes tries to lay out the significant knowledge needed to answer many unresolved questions, including how cells are organized and how proteins work. However, complex detection problems fall under the category of non-deterministic polynomial-time hard (NP-Hard) problems due to their computational complexity. To accommodate such combinatorial explosions, evolutionary algorithms (EAs) are proven effective alternatives to heuristics in solvin

Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of bis Heterocyclic Derivatives of 1,3,4-thiadiazole
...Show More Authors

The Chemistry of heterocyclic sulphur and nitrogen containing compounds have a great role in the  field of scientific studies, The 2-amino 5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole ring for instance, has gained more importance in recent years because  they are considered as potent biologically active nucleus. In this study disulfide derivative can be obtained by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide of thiol group of the heterocyclic 2-amino 5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole ring to obtain compound (3) with expected antibacterial  activity. In order to use it as a diazo component to prepare some new bis azo compounds as possible antibacterial  agents, the reaction of two primary amino groups on both sides of disulfide dimer with sodium nitr
