This research includes synthesis of new heterocyclic derivatives of N-benzyl-5-bromoisatin. New 1, 2, 4-triazole, oxazoline and thiazoline derivatives of [N-benzyl-5-bromo-3-(Ethyliminoacetate)-indole-2-one] (2) have been synthesized. The preparation process started by the reaction of 5-bromoisatin with sodium hydride in dimethylformamide (DMF) at 0°C, gave suspension of sodium salt of 5-bromoisatin and subsequent reaction with benzylchloride to give N-benzyl-5-bromoisatin (1). Compound (1) reacted with ethylglycinate (Schiff base) obtained the intermediate compound (2) which reacted with different reagents in two ways. In the current study, new derivatives were synthesized by reaction of N-hydroxyphthalimide with chloro acetyl chloride in the presence of Et3N as a base to form 1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl 2-chloroacetate (B1), which in turn enters several reactions with different amines where it interacts with primary amines to give 1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl acetate derivatives (B2-B4) in basic medium, in the same way it interacts with these amines but with adding KNCS to form thiourea derivatives (B5-B7). A simple ,accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed the determination of Cobalt(II) and Cupper (II) .The method is based on the chelation of Co(II) and Cu(II) ions with 4-(4´-pyrazolon azo) -2-Naphthol(APAN) in aqueous medium . The complexes have a maximum absorption at (513) and (506) nm and ? max 0.531×10 4 and 0.12×10 5 L.mol -1.cm -1 for Co(II) and Cu(II) respectively .The reagent and two complexes have been prepared in ethanolic solution.The stoichiometry of both complexes were found to be 1:2 (metal :legend) .The effects of various cations and anions on Co(II) and Cu(II) determination have been investigated .The stability constants and standard deviations for Co(II) and Cu(II) 0.291 x107 ,0.909X108 L.mol

Complexes of some metal ions with 2-thiotolylurea were prepared in ethanolic medium using (1:1) (Metal : Ligand) ratio yielded series of neutral complexes as the general formula [M(L)Cl2]. The prepared complexes were identified by atomic absorption FT.IR, UV-Visble spectra, molar conductivity and magnetic properties. From the above data the tetrahedral structure was suggested for all complexes.
