The new bidentate Schiff base ligand namely [(E)-N1-(4-methoxy benzylidene) benzene-1, 2-diamine] was prepared from condensation of 4-Methoxy benzaldehyde with O-Phenylene diamine at 1:1 molar ratio in ethanol as a solvent in presence of drops of 48% HBr. The structure of ligand (L) was characterized by, FT-IR, U.V-Vis., 1H-, 13C- NMR spectrophotometer, melting point and elemental microanalysis C.H.N. Metal complexes of the ligand (L) in general molecular formula [M(L)3], where M= Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II),Cu(II) and Hg(II); L=(C14H14N2O) in ratio (1:3)(Metal:Ligand) were synthesized and characterized by Atomic absorption, FT- IR, U.V-Vis. spectra, molar conductivity, chloride content, melting point and magnetic susceptibility from the above data the geometrical formula was octahedral for all complexes. And in vitro tests for antibacterial activity showed that most of the prepared compounds display activity to (Staphylococcus aureus), (Escherichia coli), (Bacillus subtilis) and (Pseudomonas aeruginosa).
In this research, radon concentrations in some types of healthy drinking water samples available in Iraq's market were measured using a technique called Durridge RAD-7-H2O with closed loop. Then the rate of annual effective dose in human taken this water is determined.
It was found that, radon concentrations in studied samples ranged between 1.2 Bq.m-3 to 142 Bq.m-3. The study showed that all extracts (aqueous, ethanolic and acetonic) of the leaves of Eucalyptus and Myrtus plants had a inhibitory effect on the growth of all types of yeasts studied, acetone extract recorded the highest inhibition of yeastat 100ppm concentration,The inhibition was 35mm, 34mm, 24mm and 20mm for Candida parapsilosis, Candida glabrata, Candida tropicalis and Candida albicans respectively, The experiments above showed the least significant differences at 0.05 level.The results ofE. The study was conducted to estimate the economic losses caused by insect mole cricket Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa on some agricultural crops and Potato tubers in collage of Agriculture- Abu Ghraib season 2012-2013. Study showed Mole cricket caused percentage of infestation in spring potato tubers variety Luciana reached to 11.61% and the percentage of loss in weight of tubers reached 18.88%. Leuconostoc bacteria was isolated from local pickled cabbage (Brassica oleracea capitata) and identified as Leuconostoc mesenteroides by morphology,biochemical and physiological.
