A comparative study of retinol-binding protein-4 and progranulin in iraqi women with thyroid disorder
...Show More Authors

Thyroid hormones (TH) regulate the metabolic processes required for normal development and growth; also, to organizemetabolism in adults, any defect in thyroid function leads to abnormality in thyroid hormones level. The current study hasbeen designed to find the relationship between retinol-binding protein-4 and progranulin in the serum of Iraqi women withhypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, also, to study whether these patients are exposed to a risk of developing diabetes mellitus, and PGRN may be a biomarker in detection early stage of diabetes mellitus.Materials and Methods: in this study, serum samples were obtained from 50 Iraqis women patients, [25 patients withhypothyroidism (G2) and 25 patients with hyperthyroidism (G3)] in addition to 25 healthy women as a control group (G1),their ages ranged from (30–55) years. The patients attended the Specialized Center for Endocrinology and Diabetes, Baghdad. Results: the results in this study showed a highly significant decrease in RBP4 levels and a significant increase in PGRNlevels in G2 and G3, respectively, compared with G1. Additionally, a considerable increase in BMI, FSG, and HbA1C levelsin G2 and G3 Comparison with G1, and a significant difference between G2 and G3 patients. Conclusions: The current study is the first to shed light on the relationship between PGRN and thyroid disorder, which providesa guide on the increase in PGRN levels of patients with a thyroid disorder, especially in patients with hyperthyroidism, relatedwith metabolic and glucose abnormalities, and then, it may be a trustable predictive biomarker for detection early stage ofdiabetes mellitus type 2 in patients with a thyroid disorder. Also, there was a significant correlation between RBP4 and PGRN inthese patients. In addition, these patients with hyperthyroidism were more likely to diabetes than patients with hypothyroidism (7) (PDF) A Comparative Study of Retinol-binding protein-4 and Progranulin in Iraqi Women with Thyroid Disorder. Using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System to Predict Rate of Penetration from Dynamic Elastic Properties
...Show More Authors

Rate of penetration plays a vital role in field development process because the drilling operation is expensive and include the cost of equipment and materials used during the penetration of rock and efforts of the crew in order to complete the well without major problems. It’s important to finish the well as soon as possible to reduce the expenditures. So, knowing the rate of penetration in the area that is going to be drilled will help in speculation of the cost and that will lead to optimize drilling outgoings. In this research, an intelligent model was built using artificial intelligence to achieve this goal. The model was built using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system to predict the rate of penetration in

Effluent Quality Assessment Monitoring of Al-Rustamiya Sewage Treatment Plant Using Geographical Information System (GIS)
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Water quality assessment offers a scientific basis for water resource development and management. This research aims to assessment of Al-Rustamiya sewage treatment plant depending on annually changes and produces maps that declare changes on parameter during a period (2015-2018). Based on prior Government Department Baghdad Environment data which annually feature changes for samples from Northern Rustamiya have been estimated as a working model. Drawn a map of the Diyala River shows annual changes in the characteristics of the Diyala River, based on northern and southern Rustamiya effluent samples, and Diyala River samples. The characteristics that research focused on were biochemical
... Show More

Assessment of Air Pollution around Durra Refinery (Baghdad) from Emission NO2 Gas at April Month
...Show More Authors

Nitrogen dioxide NO2 is one of the most dangerous contaminant in the air, its toxic gas that cause disturbing respiratory effects, most of it emitted from industrial sources especially from the stack of power plants and oil refineries. In this study Gaussian equations modelled by Matlab program to state the effect of pollutant NO2 gas on area around Durra refinery, this program also evaluate some elements such as wind and stability and its effect on stacks height. Data used in this study is the amount of fuel oil and fuel gas burn inside refinery at a year 2017. Hourly April month data chosen as a case study because it’s unsteady month. After evaluate emission rate of the all fuel and calculate exit velocity from

The Effect of The LEAD Strategy on Teamwork Skills Among Second-Year Middle School Students
...Show More Authors

The current research aims to investigate the impact of the LEAD strategy on teamwork skills among second-year intermediate school students in government day schools. Umm Al-Mu'minin School, affiliated with the First Education Directorate of Al-Koura/Qom Abi Urayb, was intentionally selected as the research site for the academic year (2026- 2025). The researcher selected one of two classes as the experimental group, which studies according to the LEAD strategy, and the other as the control group, which studies according to the traditional method. The two research groups were compared in a number of variables, including (chronological age in months, intelligence test, prior knowledge, and a teamwork skills scale). The results showed that the

The aim of the research is to find out the effect of the SPAWN strategy on the life skills of second-intermediate-grade students. This study stage represented the research community within the intermediate and secondary governmental daytime schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education of Diwaniyah. The experiment was applied in Al-Razai Intermediate School on a sample of second-grade intermediate students, including 66 students distributed into two groups: (32) students within the experimental group and (34) students within the control group. The two groups were equivalent with a number of variables (chronological age, intelligence test, previous information test, life skills scale). The results indicated that the two groups were eq

Bioactivity of Gutta flow II versus Modified Gutta Percha based Silicon Endodontic Sealers by Nanobioactive Fillers
...Show More Authors

The success of endodontic therapy is relied on radicular system cleaning, shaping, elimination of micro-organisms, and three dimensional filling of the radicular complex. This study was conducted to develop and assess new root canal sealer incorporating nano-sized bioactive glass into Gutta Flow II. The following concentration was used depend on a pilot study included adding (3%) of 45S5 bioactive glass into the Gutta Flow II. These materials were tested through assessment bioactivity. bioactivity test was undertaken after immersion of the tested samples into PBS for three days, seven days, fourteen days, and twenty eight days using FTIR too. study was found that it’s peaks was appear at level 800-1000 cm-1. The results showed that GFII gr

Estimation of Reliability through the Wiener Degradation Process Based on the Genetic Algorithm to Estimating Parameters
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the researcher suggested using the Genetic algorithm method to estimate the parameters of the Wiener degradation process, where it is based on the Wiener process in order to estimate the reliability of high-efficiency products, due to the difficulty of estimating the reliability of them using traditional techniques that depend only on the failure times of products. Monte Carlo simulation has been applied for the purpose of proving the efficiency of the proposed method in estimating parameters; it was compared with the method of the maximum likelihood estimation. The results were that the Genetic algorithm method is the best based on the AMSE comparison criterion, then the reliab

Thermal Effect of Laser on Silver Nanoparticles Synthesized by the Cold Plasma Method on Cancer Cells
...Show More Authors

In this study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized using a cold plasma technique and a plasma jet. They were then used to explore how photothermal treatment may be used to treat lung cancer (A549) and normal cells (REF) in vitro. The anti-proliferative activity of these nanoparticles was studied after A549 cells were treated with (AgNPs) at various concentrations (100%, 50%, or 25%) and exposure times (6 or 8 min) of laser after 1 h or 24 h from exposed AgNPs. The highest growth inhibition for cancer cells is (75%) at (AgNPs) concentration (100%) and the period of exposure to the laser is (8 min). Particle size for the prepared samples varied according to the diameter o
